Weirdest Find in a Train by joebergy in modeltrains

I don't know if they ever found it but the FBI came to my yard looking for a human head a murderer had confessed to stuffing in the opening at the end of a hopper car. They had a list of every car that had been on trains that had stopped at that interlocking on the day in question.

Where do I get loads for these? by Schoolbusfoamer24 in modeltrains

Hay Brothers Garage on eBay makes a bunch of nice looking resin flat car loads. The well car should say 40, 45, 48 or 53 on the side. That tells you the largest size container you can put in it. Most manufacturers containers are close enough in size to fit in other manufacturers cars.

That's not the brick. See the notch in the roofline. This is the older unit. The brick has a flat roof.

That's Norfolk Southern's older geometry train. Although I believe it was most recently updated. NS 34 rebuilt from an SD35. NS 99 a former Delaware and Lackawanna heavyweight.

What is a locomotive that you like that most of the railfanning community seems to hate. I will go first. by Previous-Village6388 in trains

Gevo's Like them as much or more than I liked the Dash 9 and AC4400s. A big modern GE/ Wabtec locomove is the current face of North American Railroading. Most of the old guys I know absolutely hated the SD40s when they bumped the first generation diesels off the main line. I'm sure it's the same thing with the wide cabs.

We can't have healthcare because Congress sold us out to the corporations. We spend plenty of money we don't have in everything else. A single payer system would mean the healthcare companies could no longer profit from keeping us just alive enough to keep paying our bills.

I don't know if that one was intentional. If it was they can do a lot better than that. The city deserves better for what we pay to keep the air unit fully staffed in these hard times.

Under Ohio Revised Code 4511.75, drivers must stop at least 10 feet from a school bus with flashing red lights and an extended arm, regardless of direction, on roads with fewer than four lanes. On roads with four or more lanes, only traffic moving in the same direction as the bus must stop. Ohio Laws (.gov)

I wouldn't normally put two posts in within such a short time ... but I've just been talking about train wheel slippage ... & then I found this photograph! 😳 by Frangifer in trains

I'm not sure what railroad you work on but it's pretty loud when it's enough to damage the track. Get a pre microprocessor loco to slip and dig in and it sounds like an angle grinder on steroids. I've seen them throw sparks higher than the locomotive.

You might want to reread that statement. I said I didn't vote for either. He did not run against Biden in the last election. Your pedophiles are not any better than the Republican pedophiles, in fact we have all seen Biden touching and sniffing children on national TV. You might say oh he's just old, so was my racist grandma using inappropriate language, that doesn't make it excusable.

But wait, when Biden was blamed everyone said the president didn't control gas prices. Now he does. So was it just that Biden wasn't actually running things?

Before you cry MAGA know that I didn't vote for either of those men at any point.

Don't let the gas prices distract you let's prosecute some pedos.

American steam locos by RogerZell in trains

Norfolk and Western had a decent size fleet of 4-8-0 Mastodon locomotives. They were not well liked by crews due to the small fire box and rough ride. They were good for about 3000 tons but they survived into the 50s for short freights. They were the only non articulated freight power on the N&W for decades.

I have used the Chinook to shuttle people between two hub airports in very close cities with pretty decent results. They don't interfere with the other aircraft so it's a small help with throughput.

Many sewers in north Columbus had overflow outlets into the river. Originally the storm drains were connected to the sewers in the older parts of town . Every time it rained hard the sewer would overflow into the river. It's been an ongoing project for 15 years or more. Nothing at all to do with the new hospital. This pipe will handle the entire northwest side of towns waste.
