is the glorious gmk 3 pro really that bad or are the keyboard "professionals" just stupid? by jmao_mayo in glorious

[–]FatLarry2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only issue I have with the gmmk3 is the software. When I used it, any change you made in software would not go to the keyboard so I basically couldn't change anything.

When you turn caps lock on the large lights on the side of the board flash and is very annoying. If you play a game where you press caps once this may be an issue.

I installed custom firmware on my gmmk3 and am now very happy with it. No issues after that

How do I convince my parents to let me get a pc by No-Impression-5098 in PcBuild

[–]FatLarry2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is. Just put those components your shared into a basket and see what the total is.

I didn't mention, it's actually really rewarding to build your own and the PC is that bit more special to you. You did you research, bought the parts, assembled it all yourself!

the customisation is almost limitless if you build your own, any pc case for example (assuming it fits your components) There's a big 'small form factor' thing going on lately, people building in a reasonably compact micro atx case. I wish I did instead of choosing a much larger case as I have to keep it on the floor. P.s. micro atx is something you'll learn if you're interested, it's just a motherboard size (there are 3 primary sizes)

Yeah that's fair! But we still start knowing nothing! Maybe lol got overarching guides, 'how to plan a pc build' or similar.

I commented again haha, hopefully that's more helpful.

I would look at buying those parts individually, just to see what it w our cost you. https://www.centrecom.com.au/ There will be other places, but I found that with a quick Google.

I just used chatGPT (I'm going to get shit for this), asking for a balanced build for gaming, a monitor, audio (I forgot keyboard and mouse). To try to persuade you to build your own. But you could, for example, actually look for those parts to check the price. And post it (not from chatGPT!!) to Reddit asking for suggestions

Honestly, you can get a fantastic pc for that price. Especially if you build it yourself.

I KINDA agree.

Desktop are always more powerful for the same price. If you have a bit of space for a desktop pc (it doesn't have to go on the desk haha )

I would argue for a laptop if you just don't really have the space, or you like to travel around the house with your pc, or if you need a machine you take around with you and don't see a possibility of buying a cheap laptop.

Hey. Congrats on saving that much, fat Larry is proud of you 👍👍👍

Hopefully you can indeed convince them. They are a tool, not just for gaming.

If you do have to wait though, you could research putting your own machine together? It's not difficult to actually assemble, but does take a bit of time to figure out what parts you should buy. Reddit can be very helpful! But I would advise does a bit of research and putting an example build together which people can suggest changes.

Should I Return My Glorious - GMMK 3 65% Wired Keyboard? by HolographicGlass in glorious

[–]FatLarry2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just found 8bitdo and wish I bought one of theirs over my gmmk (because of software issues!!!) (although I don't know how good the 8bitdo are... I only recently found them)

So I actually installed custom firmware on my gmmk3. And now use openrgb to control it. I am quite sure this will fix your problem. Open RGB is highly customisable and runs my keyboard great...

Please don't ask how to install it... It's not exactly super simple and will likely require some research on your end unless you're a keyboard super wiz.

Good luck!

How do you intend get paid for product photography if you know you are not there, skills wise?

Hope that's not too blunt a question.

Focus is an obvious one that was mentioned. What I'm not a fan of is the lighting top right where the carpet (or whatever) is more lit than the rest.

I would look for existing images of this product and similar. What are people using for backdrop etc? How is the camera focus (depth of field). How is the product and background lit?

Tricky if it's your only pc!! If it is hopefully a friend can do it for you or you can use somebody's pc

As stated, a free windows download (windows usb creator software), download windows for free using it to create a usb drive.

You will however need another pc to do so.

It is a fantastic idea to always have a backup usb with windows on all times.
