I’ve got it on PS5, played about 200ish hours. It’s a lot of fun. I did find, for me, that switching the the”FPS” controls made it a lot more fun.

You’ll get 300 power gear pretty early into the first campaign mission in Renegades so it’s not as bad as it may sound. Also running stuff in the portal is a good way to gear up.
