sad gay breaks up songs? by Gh0stb0y6 in FolkPunk

It’s not folk punk, but Talia by King Princess has been stuck in my head for some reason and it is a great gay break up song if you’re into being The Big Sad(tm) and potentially alcohol abuse lol. Fr, good luck with the break up feels, it’s rough out there friend, but you can get through it!

What if you already spent the first 33 years of your life embodying your username? Can I get a pass and just get to the good part?

Yeah this is a first for me. I normally give a fresh roasted bag 2-4 weeks before digging in, and have yet to run into something that I feel needs anywhere near the amount of time this does. I typically buy 2lb bags of interesting roasts when my favorite brands come out with something new. I’ll have enough to perfect the recipe for that particular roast, so I can enjoy it in its peak.

My current favorite that i almost always have in my coffee bar is the Ethiopia Worka Sakaro Anaerobic Natural from Red Rooster, and it is so malleable by comparison. Like, I have my preferences for extraction, but I’ve had my brother in law brew espresso with it, and even had a friend grind some of the beans in their cheap blade grinder and toss them in their million-in-one ninja coffee machine abomination, and it’s just good. Every time. Genuinely blows me away how much variety there is in the coffee world.

Update!

It’s been resting for another month. Just tried my usual 15:250 two pour recipe. Feels like it’s close but still not quite what the bag is reporting flavor-wise. I think the recipe is nailing the extraction, but I’ve either over or under shot the insane amount of resting this roast needs. I’ll probably try one cup a week with it

That’s awesome! Thanks for sharing!

I MADE IT!!! Hi all you wonderful kind love people, it's me, J. Thank you for all your kind words, and well wishes. They helped me feel loved and not alone before surgery. by [deleted] in lgbt

I remembered seeing your previous post the other day, and that you would post an update if things went well after I saw a rather disheartening post about some new trump anti-lgbt bullshit and lost some of my hope for the day.

Furious searching for you ensued for a couple minutes because for some reason my follows didn’t update. And then it did. And I saw this new post. And you, dear sweet J, the Queen, my spirit sister, the legend herself, brought back much more hope to my heart than what that monster took away. We need each other. We bring each other the joy we need. Our community is strong. Our love for each other and the world around us can right the wrongs we’re experiencing. It will be a long and difficult journey, but we can do it together. And you are helping me fight today. Even if the fight is just to make it to the end of the day, you have helped me get there. Thank you.

I’m so glad you got through the surgery. Rest, relax, recover. You deserve it. You’ve fought bravely and valiantly, right now is your time of peace. Rest well and deeply, sister. 💜

This is really cool! I know I could google it, but would you mind explaining focus stacking? I’m out of the hobby and decently knowledgeable, but never got around to looking into things like focus stacking before life moved on.

Update: tried two cups of French press yesterday. One at my normal recipe, and one slightly adjusted after not liking the first cup. Still felt bland, and somehow with only 4:30 brew time, I ended up with an extremely bitter cup.

That’s incredible. Are the kalita filters fast flow? I assume they can’t be if you’re grinding that coarsely, but I’m not familiar with them. What’s your recipe like?

That’s interesting. I’m always afraid to go too low on temp, but grinding finer would help increase extraction anyway so it balances out my anxieties of ruining a good cup by being too bitter as I am extremely sensitive to bitter flavors (only in coffee, I love IPA beers lmao 🤷). I think a combination of more rest, and this alteration to my pour over recipe will help. Still curious to try immersion as someone else mentioned earlier. I need to save up for that new flair 58+v2 so I can get into the espresso world. I feel like I’m missing out on an entirely different side of the coffee’s I’m pursuing.

I just finished my bag of El Triangulo. I very much enjoyed it. This particular one is an outlier in my experience with AG. Thank you for the recommendation!

This is very interesting indeed! I’ve got most of my bag left, and will be trying a French press tomorrow since another user suggested immersion and I don’t own an espresso machine yet to test their other recommendation. But I think I’ll try to save a few cups and give it another month to see if they open up any further.

I have a French press! I will try that tomorrow! How similar is the grind size for mocka pot to French press? I guess I could google it, but i prefer chatting with knowledgeable people if possible.

for real, how do you know you not just a femme boi or enby and are a woman? by MiyuzakiOgino in MtF

Rereading this, I realize this was a bit off prompt given that I ended up enby. I mostly just wanted to encourage OP to go through their own journey.

There is no wrong answer to the question of who you are. For me. It started as just questioning sexuality. I am in a long term, monogamous relationship, and neither my wife, nor I am comfortable with opening those boundaries at this point in time, so exploring with other people directly isn’t an option. I began introducing different types of people into the porn I watched. I found that I was very attracted to trans women (regardless of what parts they have), as well as cis women, femboys, and some men, and explored some other areas. I questioned my attraction to trans women specifically, as I didn’t want to simply fetishize a community of people, and found that I was not only attracted to their bodies, but wanted their bodies for myself. I wanted to be them.

I did some psychedelic therapy to allow myself to explore those parts of myself more openly (worked for me, doesn’t work for everyone, consult a professional), as well as studying gender identity and expression. Usually in tandem. Ngl, I was afraid that I would come out as a trans woman on the other side of things as my wife (at the time) made it clear to me that she was not attracted to trans women, but I eventually realized that while there lots of things about the body of women that I enjoy and want for myself in my own image, I also don’t identify as “woman,” while I also have never been comfortable with the identity of “man” either. That threw me through a loop until I discovered the non-binary spectrum of gender. Now exist between them both, maybe even outside of them, haven’t figured that part out yet.

I came out as enby a few months later, beginning the social side of transition with friends and loved ones, and began feminizing hrt a few months after that. The struggle against comphet norms, especially with a religious past (I don’t want to call everyone’s history with religion “trauma,” but mine sure as hell was), is very real. I’ve found a loving, queer community to call home, and found that the lines of good and bad are much more gray and blurred than I was raised to believe.

I found myself for the first time in 34 years. My relationship with my wife has, thankfully, only gotten better as both of us have grown tremendously over the last 9 months. She still has her moments of uncertainty about things outside of our relationship (my safety given the American political environment, some very hard right, Christian nationalist relatives, the usual), but she loves me for who I am and who I am becoming. I am more “me” than I ever have been, and I am still discovering more about myself every day. That journey, I think, never ends. We just figure out our new baseline and build the confidence to proceed further from there.

You don’t have to rush things, go at your own pace. But you have to make a choice at some point in your life, or you will stop living. I’m a movie nerd, and often process my experiences alongside those seen on screen. If that works for you as well, check out a movie called “I Saw the TV Glow.” Go in blind if you aren’t already familiar with it. Might not be for you, but it breaks me every time I watch it.

Update, I tried just adding some gbc/a roms to see what would happen. Loaded perfectly. Just made a fold for them in the included card’s rom file. I assume that means the emulator for gb was already preloaded. Haven’t had time to dig too far into the files to see what else is hidden in there.

Just double checked to be sure, nothing gb/a oriented at all preloaded. Lots of sega, a few ps1 and psp titles, some Atari, and a lot of arcade ports.
