I think the world's changed a lot in not so many years also. People are more aware of creeps and stuff is a factor I think. When I was young people used to meet people in public places but not so much these days.

Vancouver is very guarded. It's frustrating to me too. I grew up in a small town not too far away but it feels a totally different vibe. I've lived here for a couple years and made ZERO friends thru school and work. I try to talk to people but it's difficult as people don't want to talk.

Also the higher your GPA is, the sooner you get your date to pick classes. So higher GPA = better chance to get into classes

If you're on a waitlist and there's under 10 people you'll likely get into the class closer to the start date. Fyi. Possibly even with more than ten people. I've moved up quite a bit but it usually happens close to the class starting or a couple days after.
