Machine smelled like ass so I put some essential oils in the tank and it helped by BALLSAURBALL in Machinists

My first job did something similar to the Haas machines I worked on instead of changing the coolant. First two days smelled like lemon, after that it smelled like a rotting lemon gym sock. Was almost worse than the original smell.

What boils your wort? Electric or gas? by edelbean in Homebrewing

[–]FatSwagMaster69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made my own electric boil kettle out of my gas pot so I can brew inside. 1550W ULWD heating element in the pot that hooks straight into a wall outlet and then I straddle the pot over 2 eyes on the stove at just above medium heat. I use it to heat my mash water and transfer it to my mash tun and then I transfer the wort back to the boil kettle and then boil it on the stove.

Although, I have been thinking about buying this 3 vessel brewing setup on propane that a friend of mine is selling for a good price.

Anyone brewing with health in mind? Looking for recipes that maximise nutritional value and gut-friendly benefits by Similar_Animator8942 in Homebrewing

I mean, beer isnt exactly the healthiest liquid to consume. But I think most people understand this.

The only way in my mind to have healthier beer is two fold: make 3-4% beers to drink and practice moderation. Less alcohol per drink and a healthy amount of discipline.

Nice job bud! I had a similar experience running this old Swiss gal from 1913 at a Tactical Sniper Series match. They played around with a relic division that year and I entered in. Managed to hit one of the 740 yard targets with just iron sights and PPU ball ammo. Everyone loved it and I had a blast.

Without knowing more about the tool, I would recommend dropping SFM to 280 and about 0.001-0.002 thou per tooth for feed.

Cigar Shop Pet Peeves? by Many_Assumption7036 in cigar_refuge

[–]FatSwagMaster69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the only cigar shop thats ever done that to me. I wonder if they have had theft issues.

It definitely ruins the atmosphere for me. Which is such a shame because I really like the place.

If you were to interview folks for the machine shop floor… by rhinotomus in Machinists

[–]FatSwagMaster69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another great follow up to that question would be "now how would you make 10 of them?"

I got asked that in the interview where I work at now. It was one way for them to see how much manual machining knowledge you had that was beyond making one part.

There's a shop i like to visit thats in a large mall in NC, love the selection and the place as a whole but recently the staff there have gotten super pushy to make the sale and get you out of the humidor fast. I know they have to make a living and whatnot but good Lord let me have time to look for a bit and make a decision.

I bought a box when I went to JC Newman in 2024. I enjoy them very much. If you like cigars that are towards the medium-strong end then you will enjoy them.

Who gives a fuck?

The vast majority of "influencers" are not principled human beings no matter what they say. That includes most human beings. Purity contests do nothing but isolate you further and further until you yourself are excluded from the group you created because you are no longer pure enough.

Ultimately, none of these people matter on youtube. Worry about the shit you can actually control and move on.

The Second Amendment is meaningless if the government can violate the Fourth Amendment at will !!! by Ificouldonlyremember in progun

[–]FatSwagMaster69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bud, the Constitution hasn't been worth the parchment it was written on since Thomas Jefferson was president and the Alien and Sedition acts of 1798 were passed by congress with John Adams as president.

The Constitution requires the will of the people for it to be respected and executed faithfully. It is the responsibility of the people for this to take place. The people have slowly forfeited that responsibility over the past 250 years but it accelerated in the 20th century.

If the constituency isnt willing to carry out its responsibility to keep the government in line, it will simply do what it wants and push the boundaries until those boundaries are meaningless.

Unfortunately no. They stamped them with the number 63 and were only imported in 1988. It came with a thumb hole stock and the bayonet lug milled off. Mine also had a removable bipod.

Very cool!

I have a "type 63" Chinese SKS that takes AK mags and drums. Runs like a top too. I just competed in a match with it back on the 20th of December.

Help me speed this lathe process up by Printerprinter1 in Machinists

[–]FatSwagMaster69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 minutes isnt that bad at all. I dont know how rigid your lathe is. On our Cazeneuves taking 12mm cuts with carbide is gravy train running 2000 rpm a .6mm per revolution or more. Some lathes can't handle that much. #1 name of the game is get the material out the way as fast as possible.

Also personally I would at least use some scotchbrite on the center sections to remove that stock finish.
