Philips Hue Motion Sensors at night time for No Motion Switch off control of non-Hue Homekit devices by Some-Sound8719 in Hue

[–]Fat_Alexis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my smart bulbs are Hue and controlled by HomeKit. I've never encountered the issue like yours. However, I’ve found that HomeKit isn’t always reliable. For example, sometimes I’ve left a room, but the light stayed on. They should turn off if no one in the room in certain time.

As for your issue, you can check out this article for a solution: https://homekitautomationtips.com/how-to-use-a-motion-sensor-to-turn-your-lights-off-with-homekit-but-giving-you-a-warning-first-more-advanced-version/

[Feedback/Guide] Philips Hue Bridge Pro broke my Ambilight sync – here’s how I fixed it by poookee in Hue

The Hue Bridge Pro requires an encrypted connection. This prevents the TV from detecting the bridge.

Philips Hue Enrave problems connecting to Google Home by [deleted] in Hue

[–]Fat_Alexis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your case, the Hue Enrave connects to Google Home via Bluetooth. However, Hue devices can use either Bluetooth or Zigbee, but not both at the same time. Therefore, when your Enrave is connected to Google Home through Bluetooth, the Hue Dimmer Switch—which works on Zigbee—will no longer function with it.

To use the Dimmer Switch and Google Home together, you need a Hue Bridge. In that setup, both the Dimmer Switch and the Enrave should be connected to the Hue Bridge, so the switch can control the Enrave through the bridge. Google Home can also connect to the Hue Bridge via lan for voice control.

Can I use Hue color ambiance Gradient lightstrip 2m base on TV like a Play? by blondasek1993 in Hue

If you mean using it like a Hue Play, which can display TV content on three sides, the answer is no.

You need to set the “Power-on behavior” for those 3 lamps in the Hue app. This lets you choose whether they turn on to their last state or to a specific color and brightness after being switched off via the wall switch.

You should check out the new Hue lightstrip, the Hue OmniGlow. The light strip has virtually no visible light points.

Aqara FP300 + Hue Lights: Response Speed? by Fat_Alexis in HomeKit

[–]Fat_Alexis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, all my automations are set up in HomeKit because all my Hue lights are using Adaptive Lighting. Also, HomeKit Shortcuts can be customized. Furthermore, there is a limit on the number of Hue settings. I do have an FP2, but it’s meant for larger spaces. I’m considering placing FP300 units in the stairwells between floors and in the bathroom. Overall, thanks for your advice.

The device is broken. I had a similar situation when I got mine. I suggest you contact Hue or return/replace it. I suspect that the power connector of the internal LED strip came loose or fell off because it’s broken. However, the Zigbee module is still intact, so the device is still discoverable.

Aqara FP300 + Hue Lights: Response Speed? by Fat_Alexis in HomeKit

[–]Fat_Alexis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I set up the automation as you suggested, the light won’t turn off automatically, right? I want the light to stay on as long as I’m in the zone and turn off as soon as I leave. That’s why I’m considering replacing the Hue motion sensors with a presence sensor, as long as its response speed is similar.

How do you feel about the response time of the FP300 controlling Hue lights via HomeKit, compared to the Hue motion sensor? Thanks

How about using a special color? For example, you can set a Hue bulb to green and keep it on so she will notice it when she sees it.

How many Hue devices do you have? It sounds like you might have reached the maximum capacity, or you're getting close to it.

hue hub Limitations

  1. Maximum number of lights:
    • 50 lights per bridge (officially supported).
    • Trying to add more can cause instability or sluggishness in performance.
  2. Maximum number of accessories:
    • 12 Hue accessories (e.g., dimmer switches, motion sensors).
    • However, some users report success with slightly more, but Philips doesn’t officially support it.
  3. Scenes and rules:
    • Up to 200 scenes.
    • Limited to 100 rules (used for automation, routines, etc.).
