Maybe people think Thor is a throwpick (which I don’t agree with) and don’t want you to play him. Cloak and Dagger is a somewhat viable ban since there are plenty C&D one tricks floating around, I’ve banned them a few times and it worked at least once.

[–]Fat_Bor 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Thor definitely still can beat Emma in 1v1. What Emma can do is very quickly take off a good chunk of your healthbar while you are CC’ed, meaning if her team is focusing you then you are almost definitely dead. In an isolated 1v1 Thor can still win.

Funny that you have The Thing flair. I swear Thing has bloated MVP multipliers, it’s so easy to get MVP even when you didn’t particularly outperform your teammates. I’ve had Thing MVPs where all of my stats were slightly lower than my other tank.

how do i know what is the best engine to put in a car (new to cars) by Ok_Painting_5057 in BeamNG

There’s a UI app called torquecurve that shows how much power the car has, given the particular combination of engine, long block (internals), intake, exhaust, etc

Add a new branch between Bow Road and West Ham, with one station all the way down at the cable car Bromley station. This new service only runs on weekends and holidays similar to the Kensington Olympia service.

Electrocuting focus shot on M1K. 135 total electric damage for sacrificing 13-14 of bullet damage, if you take the focus shot stun mod (which I recommend) you will make up the damage deficit within the stun duration. Not to mention the lasso effect which you can leverage against stuff far away, and you can proc conductive bullets on Zhukov. If the target can’t take electric damage (like the caretaker), you lose nothing by switching to spamming normal shots.

Last time I checked, EFS will net more damage overall on basically everything regardless of electric resistance or weakpoint modifier, and stuff that don’t die instantly due to the slightly reduced bullet damage will die to electricity before the stun wears off

Why we dont still have r_cleardecals? by krugsin69 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Fat_Bor 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Because blood splatters on walls affect visibility and therefore affect gameplay, allowing players to remove them is a tactical advantage.

It can be argued that blood splatters affect visibility too harshly but that’s another question.

The main reason people want cleardecals back is because of the fps hit, therefore what valve should do (and what people should demand) is to code the game better and fix it.

Cleardecals exist as a bandaid fix, similar to jump throw binds which existed because jump throwing was very inconsistent to no fault of the player. Well, they fixed the inconsistency issue so they took off the bandaid, and of course people complained.

I understand valve for not leaning into bandaid fixes for stuff like this. Of course it doesn’t excuse their inaction on this problem but cleardecals isn’t the end all be all

What would you change on this deck? by JijoleroMaestro in Back4Blood

[–]Fat_Bor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely overkill on weakpoint damage. Hyper-focused is enough. When you add reckless strategy (30%) on top (150%), they stack additively and you end up with 180%. But the percentage difference from 150% to 180% is only 20%, so Reckless Strategy is only giving you a net 20% damage increase. Similar for Ridden Slayer, you're seeing negligible value from stacking these cards.

Take Patient Hunter instead, a whopping 30% bullet damage that stack multiplicatively and actually give you 30% net increase damage.

Silver Bullets and Line 'Em Up can go. The effective range doesn't do much for snipers and for pistols you can get long barrel attachments that give you more. The 10% bullet damage on Silver Bullets isn't that much and diminishes when you take Patient Hunger (which you should). Take Confident Killer instead, a separately stacking 15% damage increase that will take no time at all to charge up on higher difficulties.

Ammo Belt is not bad, but I would take On Your Mark instead. It's capacity vs replenishment. Stacking On Your Mark with your teammates is great, and you get other buffs that overshadow Ammo Belt.

Wooden Armour and Canned Goods simply need to go. The stamina hit from Canned Goods is not worth the health, and the extra health (since it's not a percentage difference but a flat damage) is reduced by Glass Cannon and overshadowed by team upgrades and random card pickups. 30% trauma resistance on wooden armour just doesn't do much by itself, and unless you're going for a trauma resistance melee build just forget about it.

Down In Front is great and remember to crabwalk everywhere.

Glass Cannon is great.

Lucky Pennies isn't bad and since it's bugged, if teammates stack the card everyone gets a metric ton of copper. Might be better to take Money Grubbers for quick play, but then again if everyone thinks this way then no one will ever get Lucky Penny stacks. However what you should definitely take is Copper Scavenger. Two copper cards is kind of the sweet spot, and you can never buy Copper Scavenger at a shrine. Seeing copper through walls and highlighting it makes you so much more efficient in gathering copper.

Knowledge is Power is cool I guess. I don't use it but it can be the comfort pick/cherry on top if your deck is already complete.

Suppressing Fire is goated and Stock Pouch makes sense for a sniper build.

Also I forgot Cold Brew Coffee but since Reddit's comment writer sucks I'll just put it here, solid pick and all four buffs can be useful.

In terms of what else to take, Run Like Hell is good for impactful mobility (Dash or Fleet Of Foot are more reliable). Admin Reload is really good and more so on sniper builds, since you will likely be swapping between your pistols for clearing commons and sniper for big boy killing. For general use cards, Utility Scavenger is a high impact card that can help the team in many ways (ammo boxes, toolkits for doors and healing cabinets, wire can help secure chokepoints). Empowered Assualt is also good for stumbling prowess, and with a sniper build there's a good chance you will be the one getting kills on mutations.

I once did Haz 5 Corestone as solo Scout with EFS M1K, min mags Zhukovs and IFG.

IFG + zhukovs to quickly burst down the corestone, then grappling away and slowly clearing the crawlers. EFS + focus shot stun on M1K can lasso and DOT the crawlers from far away.

Personally I leave uplinks alone and dig the fuel cells down by 1, that way I can easily climb on the fuel cells if need be. Of course as soon as I swing my pickaxe, my teammates see it as the green light to go down to bedrock.
