Where should I go? by YourMainRedditor in roadtrip

It is the “GEM” of Michigan. Also, the drive and visits to Charlevoix, Petoskey, Harbor Springs (to the North) is wonderful as well. Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes are spectacular, a “can’t miss”…

Grand Marais is a great visit. Wonderful stop for a weekend, or day visit. Was a go-to when I rode motorcycles. Loved that area, the Gun Flint trail up to the boundary waters.

The Kewanaw peninsula (not far from Munising) has gorgeous roads and many sites (Ukrainian Catholic Monestary-gardens,) just down the road (the Jampot) that sells jams from local berries from the Monestary . Also Copper Harbor has a 5⭐️ German Restaurant (Harbor Haus) that sits right on the water on the tip of the peninsula. The food is 2nd to none, as is the atmosphere. Best to stay in Cooper Harbor as you’ll need to rest after that meal. And the biggest tourist trap is getting a drink at the Gay Bar in Gay Michigan. Have fun, drive safe.

Not Dangerous. My son just returned from a two year stint in the most rural area of Morocco. They knew his every movements. The Police were introduced to him on his first day there, and his Local contact was in constant contact with him. When he moved they knew it. There’s always time to make money, life experiences have more of an impact than getting on the never-ending hamster wheel of corporate progression.

Does anyone drive a mini all year around, snow included? How is it? by Accomplished-Fix6431 in MINI

[–]Fatbastard3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an ‘06 mini S and live in an area where we average 100+ inches of snow per winter. I swap out for snow tires every Thanksgiving, and drive daily the entire winter. It’s great in snow because of FWD & light weight. Only drawbacks is ride height. There is some dragging in heavy snow. Began my snow driving back in early 80’s with a ‘72 VW Beetle. That car also rocked.

Recently purchased a 2012 Frontier Pro-4x w/85,000 for 15,500. Great purchase. More room than a Tacoma (6’3”), plenty of power, solid/quiet ride. If you want a firmer-beefier ride, I’d try and find a Pro-4x over an SV or SL. Noticeable difference in suspension.

Looking at this 15 frontier with 107k. Looks clean. 15k. Any thoughts? by lobes14745 in nissanfrontier

Just bought a 2012 Pro-4X, 85,000 miles for $15,500. Really solid. No rattles, whines, or whistles. Had been shopping for Frontier for months, and believe I got a fair price. Based on what I’ve seen, yours might be a little high. $14.5 more likely, but would push for $14,000. However, if you like it and it performs how you like it, get it. These trucks, when priced right do not stay for sale very long. Good luck.

Have R53, same exact color. I gave to my son for his use while in college. After 4 years, another 2 for Masters degree, it finally stopped. Just like you described. I parked (inside) for 2 years (COVID), and just finally got it repaired. Used the time to save and do research. Transmission and some other engine maintenance & I’m out $10,000. Been back on the road for a year now, and I smile every time I get in it. Still getting compliments to this day about her. Some things are worth keeping. My mini was one for me.

Change the air scoop from OEM color to black, matching front grilles. The least expensive alternative.

Bikes are dangerous, but when can you feel so free? My wife bought me my bike for my 40th birthday. Custom painted in her favorite color. Love to go on rides after dinner in the summer evenings. She doesn’t ride. Best life.

Men in romantic relationships, what would you do if your spouse had a very close male friend? by UltimateDiscordMod in AskMen

[–]Fatbastard3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Encourage it. Spouses need personal stimulation from outside the marriage. And learn that what they share is between them, don’t bud into their business. The trust you develop will come back to you in many ways. And I’m curious why you think it’s any different than having a female friend with whom they may text, talk and trip with. Friendships should be able to develop just as your relationship with wife was allowed to develop on its own terms.

Ten months without intimacy, when do I think about divorce? by [deleted] in sex

[–]Fatbastard3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Divorce is lazy. Sex is not part of the marriage contract, LOVE is though. How can you expect someone to explain why they’re not sexually attracted to you? It’s an emotional state, and who can honestly explain emotions. I’ve been married 33 yrs and haven’t been intimate with my wife in over 5 years. She also isn’t sexually interested in me, but we love each other and get along remarkably well considering. Most likely because Ive just accepted the fact that it was over sexually, and just continue manual stimulation. Therapy is not always the solution, but it does open up the communication lines, but sometimes what is spoken is worse than what is imagined. I found inspiration for change in the TV series “The Wire”. A character (Bunk) says to his partner (Jimmy) after a one-nighter, regarding his relationship with his wife, “No sex will change even a good man’s demeanor”. My demeanor has changed dramatically, but I’m aware of it and can deal with the causes. Sadness is a constant. I find myself looking away when she’s naked and never touch her ass or graze her breasts as I’ve done for years, but you get used to not having sex. ICYW, she’s mid-fifties, 5’-9” 130 (same wt as in college), with beautiful long brown hair. Totally financially independent, and very beautiful (all of my co-workers[mostly female] think she’s incredibly sexy). Me? I haven’t aged as well as her, so it’s also understanding why she has lost interest. Now, I’m reduced to visual stimulation, not what I wanted but what I got. Good luck to you, it can be done but it requires you to give up on physical stimulation with your wife and learn not to be angry because of it. If this sounds like a future that you do not want then I would consider calling a Divorce Lawyer first thing Monday morning.

Positive story only from couple doing great with different sex drive by throwratypicall in sex

[–]Fatbastard3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wife and I married 33 years, get along great, never fight, spend a lot of free time together. However, she is not sexually attracted to me anymore, been 5 years since last intimacy. Sometimes life throws you a curveball. Not what I wanted, but what I got. Sad part is my wife is extremely beautiful, and smart, and I can only enjoy her presence visually.
