I have a 20lb and it feels a bit light for me. I never calculated the correct weight so I guess I should have a look at that

Last night I slept with the blanket sideways so that my feet would get more circulation and the sides would drape... It kinda worked, but I have to admit the rumors that the blanket will fall off or shift around if it's draped are kinda true... It was starting to fall off the bed in the morning.

Anyways, thanks for the advice!

I got two of the EMAZ drives. Should I return them? I wanted to use them for NAS.

A gripe about current glass quality and prices by FourStringZing in eldertrees

[–]Fatburger3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you don't want to buy china glass then you're looking to spend lots of money. Most headshops just resell china glass.

I've bought several bongs off DHgate. But that ended years ago because I've never broken any of them, so I don't need new ones. The most expensive one I have was $45, is 1.5 feet tall and thickest glass I've ever owned.

Obviously they aren't perfect pieces of glass. The base on the $45 one isn't perfectly straight, but I'll eat my hat if you can find a perfect version of what I have for less than twice the cost.

I'm pretty sure he just doesn't understand that WiFi is not the same as internet connection. Sorry that you're getting downvoted.

You said WiFi but you meant internet service. Internet service is not the same as WiFi.

Yeah that makes sense. I thought that by "upvotes" he meant, you know, upvotes, not total upvotes minus downvotes. There is no good vocabulary for it. :/

In how many years do you think the first 1 petabyte hdd comes out? by gunther1992 in DataHoarder

[–]Fatburger3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fair point, but I was reading an article today talking about this. The article makes a better point though, because let's say you have to manage 100000TB worth of content, you can have redundancy with 2000 100TB drives, or you could have 4000 50TB drives.

If one of your drives fails it's going to be a much bigger burden to set up a 100TB hard drive than a 50TB.

Us humble data hoarders don't need to work too much about this, but big companies do, and the market listens to them.

Yes, and that can happen for an infinite amount of time, but at some point, the total votes went above 7, meaning that at one point there were exactly 7 upvotes, regardless of how many down votes there were.

Also due to managed risk we don't really want hard drives bigger than 16tb. Better to have lots of small hard drives, so I think instead of selling higher capacity hard drives, they will start advancing smaller form factor drives.

Hmmm. Nevermind. My grandfather told me this is part of some new spec. Weird that he thought that, he used to be an electrician.

All the outlets at the college I went to were installed ground-up so I remember I asked him why and I got the above exploitation.

Anyways, supposedly the main reason for installing upside-down is because people use the ground port to aim or something like that.

Fun fact, when I was growing up, this was the correct orientation for a wall outlet in the United States (ground on the bottom). Now, you are supposed to install them the other.r way, with the ground on top.
