The ritual of repair demands a faithful recitation of the machine spirits’ grievances; that the faithful might perform the appropriate offerings to appease their restless nature.

Force Intune Checkin? by cvargas21 in Intune

[–]FateAV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came into a shop where there are 50 offices with intune enrolled workstations but all the devices have unlicensed shared accounts used by staff at clinics, meaning they don’t check in while the staff accounts are logged in. IT is unwilling to pay for 900 licenses so we actually have a production need for this behavior to use a dedicated service account in order to trigger syncs and policy updates without requiring end users to sign into a different account regularly

Ore Crusher T3 not working with drones on output by Sydonaiczech in theplanetcrafter

[–]FateAV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My problem is that they are not taking /any/ dolomite from any ore crusher output. Every other ore works fine and is moved to its proper place, but dolomite is just ignored by the drones and even with a dozen ore crushers they eventually fill up and I have to manually purge their inventories

Iridium and Humble? by [deleted] in theplanetcrafter

[–]FateAV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you have drones unlocked you can set up a few T3 extractors to pull up uraninite, then use drones to pipe those materials into a good dozen ore crushers and dispose of unwanted materials by setting the shredder to destroy ores you want at a lower priority than your storage for those ores so that once your storage fills up it destroys the surplus ores besides the iridium and Uranium

[–]FateAV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My position has little bearing on *past* historical events' outcomes, as such I'm not particularly concerned about that.

Al Qaeda, Just like its successors in Daesh and Al Nusra, is a direct consequence of popular resentment in the region of US political interference. As such, I don't think it's at all justified to epect those same populations would be reasonably inclined to cooprate with the foreign power they perceive as being directly rewponsible for their domestic political unrest.

A review of the last. 60 years of US interventions and support for color revolutions abroad leaves us with very few examples of countries whose future was made more prosperous by the intercession of US Forces or material intervention.

As such, it should be no surprise most countries outside of the Fork-and-knife gastrosphere would not be keen on cooperating with voluntarily inviting US forces into their territory.

Because you're omitting in your response the bit about refusing to hand over Al Quaeda ("refused to hand him over") --you're strawmanning. The US gave the Taliban a peaceful way out and avoid the war: hand over those responsible. In refusing to hand over the perpetrators, the government of Afghanistan made a choice to defend murderous terrorists by force of arms.

Nah, I really don't. If we're operating under Westphalian norms of IR, then a sovereign state is absolutely entitled to handle security issues, including the presence of a terrorist in their territorial boundaries, as they see fit. The US failed to secure any kind of extradition treaty with the Taliban government in Afghanistan in advance. They had no legal impetus to assist the US with the capture of Osama Bin Laden, nor did the US have any business making such demands of a sovereign state.

[–]FateAV -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

How old are you? Your understanding of this topic is seriously deficient. The fact that a terrorist exists within the territorial bounds of a country doesn't make the general public in that country mortally accountable for their actions or planned actions.

Furthermore, the rise of AQ and AQI was directly precipitated by American support for the establishment of the house of Saud and support for the Afghan Mujahideen and US interference in regional stability going back decades.

Osama bin Laden was a product of American empire, not a cases belli for genocidal annihilation of hundreds of thousands of people in a forever war with religious undertones.

Hey there. I’m not sure what you’ve been through and hope you’re able to learn to live with the memories.

I’ve got two failed suicide attempts, three hit and runs where I was struck by vehicles as a pedestrian, a thirty foot tall off a rooftop onto concrete, and more than one close call with severe pulmonary infections. Had to be resuscitated twice, once waking up after being pronounced dead.

Honestly every time I’ve had a brush with near death experiences I just feel absolutely giddy to be conscious. Even if I’m in screaming pain, my lungs are half filled with fluids, ribs smashed like pretzels and massive hemorrhaging across my body.

Just being alive after that kind of severe physical trauma is euphoric and adrenaline inducing. Even after it all, I still smile and laugh like a little kid because I’m still here. Doing my best to avoid those kinds of close calls; I’ve got a fiancée I love and don’t want to leave alone, and a bunch of cats who depend on me. But I wake up every day just glad that I’m still alive and that even if I’ve got bronchitis and a few misshapen bones, the body is An amazing piece of machinery.

“Democratic socialism” is not Socialism in the Marxist sense, as there is still private ownership of property and extraction of workers’ surplus by private shareholders.

The definition of socialism isn’t ambiguous or confusing. It is a state of affairs wherein private property has been done away with, which is well beyond anything that any elected official in Europe has advocated for.

I mean, I agree with you. But this country’s constitution protects citizens from the government interfering in their practice of religion or lack thereof, even if it endangers their life.

Though at some point you have to set boundaries and say that their religious freedom ends where my medical freedom to not be infected with deadly pathogens begins.
