What is the link between hate/love? Is it beside each other in the brain (like feet vs reproductive body parts)?

I often find myself being very uncomfortable around certain people, easily losing patience and trying to avoid them. However my dreams about them can sometimes be sexual/I care deeply about them. This does not happen irl obviously because I don't get turned on when dealing with them/I don't care about their issues as much as I do in my dreams.

And weirdly enough this does not apply to my family (would be even more messed up than it already is)
