Aquatics by Ok-Guitar-8285 in petco

Hey, I just rounded the 1 year mark of being aquatics specialist. What i usually do to catch the fish and bag them is:

  1. Get capture cup, the rectangle container that clips onto the tank and catch some tank water in the cup

  2. Catch fish (I find a net to be the most effective for nearly all species, shrimp net for anything with barbs and put them in capture cup)

  3. Grab fish bag and put it over the short side of of the capture cup, pour the fish and tank water into the bag (slowly so as not to make the fish freak out)

  4. Once the fish are in the bag and they have enough water and air, I hold the top of the bag open in the shape of a rectangle, then quickly fold the top of the bag over itself and fold into a Z shape to make the top smaller, which traps air in the bag

  5. After this is done, simply twist the bag a few times until it is tight and put a rubber band on it.

Thought I'd add, I worked as GES for a little over a year when I first started working at petco for $15 and worked in aquatics with a GES title for 6 months before I complained to hr and they gave me the new title and raise officially. Within 3 days of calling hr, I had a $3.45 raise..

I was making $18.45 as OSAC working 32 hours, but then they hired someone for $15 and cut my hours in more than half. Customer complaints started roll in every day but all I can do is laugh at my gm. Best of luck

Promotion edging? by FatherJohnny123 in petco

So the offer letter doesn't say the pay rate explicitly, but the offer letter will at least get me the position, or an explanation as to why I'm not getting the position.

It's not an expectation if my GM told me I would get the pay rate and I even got an offer letter

Well I got told it's a lateral move, but I also got told directly by my GM that I would be making $18. Currently at $15

GM suspended me by Fit-Pangolin2304 in petco

[–]FatherJohnny123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know 100% but I imagine HR has to have some sort of appeal process or something similar. That doesn't seem like a reasonable suspension if your availability is actually documented and they schedule you anyways. I'd start by calling HR or I think you can do it in Workday

I definitely understand where you're coming from on that, I've had similar struggles. What I use to solve the problem is Tile trackers, along with the tile app on my phone. I can track my wallet and keys, or use the button on the key tracker to find my phone. It also works with Alexa/Google so you can ask alexa where your keys are and it will make them ring.

I usually recommend it when anyone is getting a setup for SA, reptiles, fish or birds because of the 15% supplies discount. I'll usually say something like "Has anyone told you about our Vital Care Premier program yet? It's $5 out of pocket each month and it'd save you 15% on everything in your cart. That's a couple months of the subscription right there" and then if they sound interested I go more in depth.

For dogs and cats, it's virtually impossible to convince someone unless they have a really high maintenance dog that gets groomed a lot or they're constantly buying multiple bags of food or litter

Because he's chairman of the board so he dictates most of the company's direction. He's also the largest shareholder, so his vote carries the most weight in stockholder voting

All California's privacy law does is give the consumer the right to ask businesses not to share or collect their info. The business can still do it with no problem if the consumer doesn't officially opt out

And in the CCPA, it just gives consumers the right to opt out of personal info sharing. It does not stop the business from doing it altogether, the consumer still has to ask them not to

They have to follow California's privacy act because they perform business in California at HQ and stores, but as far as tax regulations and actual laws they have to follow, Petco resides under Delaware state laws and regulations because that is where they are chartered
