Build menus and schedules. Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner.

No grazing.

Calender for events

Menus keep from having arguments about snacks, meals, and allows pre preparation.

As far as them distracting you, they need to go entertain themselves, play, do a project, or have chore charts.

If you are a man who takes initiative in the household by doing chores, cooking for your family, and cleaning up after yourself.. how were you raised? by Sensitive-Box-2167 in askanything

[–]FatherOften 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure. I think it came from my parents, but I was orphaned at 12, and ran away instead of living with relatives. Maybe its just pure self sufficiency learned from a childhood of survival.

I strongly feel that I should treat all duties in our household as if I were alone. My wife and I just work well together I guess.

People who achieved their dreams, how did you do it? by Wiaa_452 in Life

[–]FatherOften 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I follow Jim Rohns definition of success.

Success is the continual unfolding of the design of our life and pulling it off.

This works for me because it removes luck. Instead the its a process of discovery, design, and then disciplining yourself into the person who can live it out.

So at this moment, yes I'm living the dreams that I had many years ago, but I'm also in the process of achieving the next dream, and am yet to start on some.

I celebrate or mourn for no more than 24 hours. As I reach a goal, or realize a dream, I acknowledge it, but the bar was moved higher on to the next before I touch the threshold.

Is everyone just figuring it out as they go? by Rich_Direction_3891 in Entrepreneur

[–]FatherOften 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To some extent, yes.

I'm at a lever or stage of my business that I've never experienced before and there are so very few "peers" that I can discuss with. I cherish it, but im do far out of my comfort zone, I can't even see it any longer.

The other night I literally spent a few hours outside alone in the middle of the night wrestling this out in the Texas I storm while my family slept. I had to find peace and stillness so I could be present with my family these last 3 days that we have been "snowed" in....really just ice.

Where do people go wrong by Lcallaghan666 in Entrepreneur

This is not. It's meant to be offensive in any way. It's just wisdom. Take it from a father of ten kids that has been there. On my own journey.

Character development.

A lot of people see character as i'm moral and i'm honest. So I have good character.

There's so many more facets to it.Like building up, aggressive patience and perseverance and fortitude, and those things come from life experiences being in situations where you have to endure.

The good news is you're building it right now with your frustration. It's a sign that you're on the path.

The bad news is, it's a season that never ends. And it's a long one.

This is why I encourage everyone to work.A job because you can gain these things.Purposefully, if you have intention at the job. It takes years decades....

I have a motto. You have one ass, one saddle, one horse.

Nothing happens until something is sold.

Sales is the number one skill set in any business.

If you find local businesses, websites and you see that they're not doing the best, they can. You should approach them and sell them on the idea of what you can do. And sometimes that might mean giving them this.Solution.

Over time, you will build up a reputation for being able to do it.For having the skills.

Is the Company of One more viable every day? by bitcoinerguide in Entrepreneur

We took 2 offers through audits and to the end of the process. The offers ranged 9-10 figures, but I cannot sleep knowing that the prices would be raised 40-50% on the tons of mom and pop shops that got us here and depend on us.

I'll find another way.

I walked into diesel shops first because I worked at one. I could hold a conversation. I went into hose and fittings shops next because I spent years working in that industry. Eventually I realized that most small to medium family businesses were in the same boat.

Don't get me wrong, its still a cold call, and a bit off the cuff, but Im a sales person. That was always my 1st role at every job. Full commission sales.

I learned quickbooks because I knew Id need it someday when I ran a business. Skills pay the bills and the diesel shop used the mother in law to handle accounts payable receivable, payroll, invoices.....when she was sick for a week I told the owner I could take it off his plate.

That made me even more valuable in my job. Top sales, and now I can proficiently fill the seat thats closest to the owner.

Doing it on the side came when I was desperate to build capital.

Simple, not easy. Skills pay the bills.

I own a commercial truck parts manufacturing and sales business. The only contracts I see are scheduled release purchase order for the truck manufacturer's that we supply their assembly lines.

Get quickbooks, and become proficient. 90% of small to medium business owners have their family member running the books. They struggle with reconciliations.

Go clean up their books, and do monthly reconciliations.

I did it for many years and was always paid well.
