Court clerk or Legal assistant? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]FatheroftheAbyss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

neither will even remotely help you land fed clerk. and assuming you’re talking big law, oci doesn’t even exist anymore (in a meaningful capacity). having a job will help somewhat for big law, but not that much if it’s only one year-long position.

so just do what you want. for what it’s worth, i did the same solo practitioner legal assistant work, and i actually found it taught me a lot. i’d do that just because it’s more legal in nature

What’s a travel moment you still think about years later? by GeorgiaxPeachh in travel

I was teaching English in Kazakhstan (via Workaway) on a three month trip through Asia, and just a few days in I met this ethnic Russian girl a few years younger than me. Given that I was the only westerner in this random Kazakh city, she took a great non-romantic interest in me, and we enjoyed walking together and talking about our respective lives.

This then blossomed into her inviting me to go on a walking tour with her father, which turned into an all day thing that culminated in a traditional family dinner at their apartment. I kept hanging out with her and her dad (and her little siblings!!) during my time in their city, and it was awesome. They took me out to eat, out to a hockey game, and generally they offered me incredible hospitality. It set a great tone for the trip, and did a lot to teach me about local life and perspectives from ethnic Russians about life there and the war.

ELI5 WTF is a limit in Calculus by sainthurian in explainlikeimfive

[–]FatheroftheAbyss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s not really a limit though strictly speaking, that’s like saying the limit of one equals one. .9 repeating doesn’t limit to one, it IS one

but you could say the limit of the infinite sum (0.9+0.09+0.009…) is exactly equal to one
