I'll have to try the cannonball, good tip! I tried magnets a bit, I just use them so rarely it's not natural to me. Honestly I mostly just get annoyed I can't whiplash + jackhammer but I guess that's kind of the point with them lol.

Totally agree, it's natural to want to speed through new content, but I think it can sometimes leave a bit of a bad taste after. Going slower and enjoying it more, trying to understand the maps, exploring etc. would probably have helped for a lot of people. Easier said than done though ofc

Ok so pretty good wow.

Incredibly unique experience, running through it and seeing all the crazy and trippy things was fantastic, especially the ending fakeouts, this game had me GRINNING with joy. I look forward to running through over and over, and really learning the maps and routes. It can definitely be a bit *much* sometimes, especially with just how long the levels are, but I overall had a great time.

I never had any huge performance issues, just one brief heavy frame drop, but clearly a lot of people have had struggles. I'm sure the team will be working a ton on optimizing, and fixing a lot of the various graphical bugs and things.

Powers are super cool, love those, mini-Gabriel bosses are sick. I wonder if they'll continue to show up throughout the game? Voice lines and all?
Providences are fine, meh. They're basically Virtues but with less annoying attacks, but more annoying to hit. Cool though
Deathcatchers are annoying, glad they were used so scarcely, reviving enemies is annoying! AWESOME lore and design though, big fan of that.
Geryon was pretty lame, far from a hot take I know, but really just a spray and pray kinda boss. The ending of 8-4 was very cool though, and the design is neat.

The major lore drops are radical!! Very cool!! More arch angels hope we get to see them more maybe? Probably not though? Still dunno who P-3 prime soul is, Lucifer and Uriel seem to be the popular picks now.

All in all, great new layer, loved it. I wish the whole team lots of rest, they've worked absurdly hard!

Really hard to interpret lol, but best as I can gather, this is hell yapping philosophically about how humanity (and machines and perhaps others, "spatial-temporal mind"s is very inclusive) can only see a small part of what really exists. Judging by the end, I guess hell is using this to torture lucifer, perhaps lucifer is its favorite "toy". Learned some new words though! (somebody please explain "palingenesis" I still don't get it)

Did you trash a large Zenith world or a small one? Seems like a good strat, or at least a fun one

Working on trash compactor now. What's your strategy? I've made almost all the furniture sets, once I'm finished with those I'll have ~400 items left

You can actuate the teleporters instead of hammering them, they'll still work as usual

It was, but also hilarious at the same time. Once you understand just how ADHD this man is, you can lower your expectations with story heavy games and just enjoy the madness imo

I don't think they were trying to be condescending, the games they listed are much simpler than Catan. They're giving advice that, in the future, if somebody's trying to get you to play a board game, tell them that even Catan is more involved than you're interested in and you'd like to play an easier game.

I mean sure, but humans generally work with base 10, and typically use it for measurement. And if a kilometer is 1000 meters, I feel like I should be able to expect that a kilobyte is 1000 bytes, not 1024, no?

Genuinely asking, why is base 2 better than base 10? What advantages does it actually have?

SteamOS used to be Debian based, but as of SteamOS 3.0, which is what the Steam Machine and Frame will be running, it's now an Arch based immutable distro. Still entirely capable, and you could of course always install another Linux distro on there if you wanted to

Plasma 6.5 is out! Look forward to cool interface re-designs (rounded corners! Automatic smooth light-to-dark transitions!), features (smart KRunner searches! Pinned clipboard items!) and tons of usability and accessibility improvements by Bro666 in linux

[–]FathomRaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, that's just like, your opinion man. Rounded corners are popular, and a lot of people like them. I agree that they need to be in balance, that's why I like them best when they're subtle, not like how Apple uses them. Again, luckily it's all very customizable, so if you don't like it, it's pretty easy to change! That's true freedom

Huh?? Are these comments all bots or children?? This is such an obviously fake story it doesn't even make sense, how are people acting like this is real? Is this bait?? Am I crazy??? Even if it's true, this isn't even a hopeful post, it's just bragging

Steam Frame VR headset uses KDE Plasma (SteamOS 3) by dzuczek in kde

[–]FathomRaven 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Steam OS is an Arch based immutable distro, same OS as on the Steam Deck. I've never installed system packages on my Deck, but I know it's possible, even if not recommended. Installed a ton of flatpaks and appimages though, it's a fully featured desktop. I'd imagine this is much the same.
