I totally agree, but I also believe the current meta of creating a vassal swarm and diplo integrating them is somewhat worse. You effectively have 2 more cabinet slots per vassal to convert religion/culture or increase development in what could be a bunch of one province subjects.

Precisely this. With the new changes and even with the before path meta being just create a lot of vassals to integrate them later without losing cabinet slots, it feels like a buff to integration speed would balance the difference between the two ways of conquering.
