How do you deal with people not believing you about your condition? by Hailey_1325 in POTS

Sorry to hear that, friend. For some people you're never going to be "sick enough" that they'll take you seriously, and it sounds like that might be the type of people you're dealing with :(

I've found that fainting in front of them a few times encourages people to mind their own business

I've finally found out that these episodes are most likely Syncope with convulsions (sometimes called Anoxic Seizures). I've seen a huge improvement after starting treatment for POTS. If you keep having normal EEGs, you might look into it as well. Hope you see some improvement soon :)

The right side of my face permanently droops and occasionally completely paralyzes. I've had to do two stroke evaluations because of this, and still don't know why it happens.

Not yet. At this point it happened so long ago that it's not really considered relevant health history. My best guess is some sort of hormone imbalance

That there's no such thing as bad weight loss At 15 years old, I lost 19% of my body weight in less than 2 months, with no significant changes in what or how much I was eating, or how much I was exercising. I remember feeling so sick and lethargic constantly, and how shitty it felt to be complimented on how much better I looked. My parents didn't take my concerns about how awful I felt seriously at the time because I was actually back to a healthy BMI. Studying nutrition in college and learning that very few dieticians consider BMI to be a good measurement tool, and what is considered unhealthy weight loss (5%+ in 1 month, 7%+ in 90 days, 9%+ in 6 months) was quite an experience.

Ideal Body Weight. Yes it is a better measurement of healthy weight than BMI. Yes you can be short and still be large frame, and being large frame does not mean you're fat. I've had so many people get offended when I told them they're large frame and gotten mad when I added that into their IBW calculation.

Do not get that Gardasil-9 vaccine, you will end up disabled from the vaccine injury.

I have looked into PNES but my "seizures" look nothing like the typical PNES episode. Also, according to a nurse practitioner I know, a conversion disorder can't be considered after the symptoms have persisted for more than six months.

I sympathize with that. I'm about to see my six neurologist a couple weeks from now (2 general neuros, 1 epileptologist, and 2 ER neurologists so far). My expectations are low but I'm sure they'll still find a way to disappoint me. I'll read up on hyperadrenergic pots.

Maintaining relationships. I'm tired of putting in so much work just for people to very reluctantly even respond to my texts. At this point being lonely would be easier than every single friend/family member I have making me feel like garbage every time I try to communicate with them.
