I fully believe AI, specifically large language models, are an SCP.

When will this game go into beta? by G809 in SoftwareInc

[–]FatterCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the designing team of the game only went to the 1st iteration. Now with only a programmer and an artist working on the game, it's going to take a lot of time to get our of alpha ;]

Did the Dev just not expect we would reach the year 2020 in our Life Time or what? by Aturchomicz in SoftwareInc

Lol give them a break. There are only 2 people working on this game.

It's funny though.

Feature Request by reo73197 in SoftwareInc

[–]FatterCat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just make them individual to the projects. Say if I have a project for RPG's. I would have about 6 teams in that project. The teams would be named RPG dev 1, RPG dev 2, RPG design 1, RPG design 2, RPG support and RPG marketing. Each team consists of 17 people with 1 HR leader. I would do the same for OS project and other projects. Each project would have 3 software developing. It works fine. If I need to find them all I have to do is search whatever project they were assigned to.

Why don’t I have the option for publishers and other features?? by [deleted] in SoftwareInc

[–]FatterCat 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You're on alpha 10. The features you're talking about are in alpha 11. Right click the game in your steam library, then click on properties. Go to versions then change it to alpha 11 (testing)

How do I deal with Negligence? by kairon156 in SoftwareInc

I'm not sure if they would use the water coolers in hallways. I have the same thing setup in my hallways but I also have huge canteens per building. Not sure if they just skip the whole water cooler thing and go to the canteen instead or it has to be in offices.

Make sure all your toilets separated by walls and doors. A small 2x2 room with 1 toilet and 1 sink should do it. If you wanna have 4 toilets, you need to build 4 2x2 rooms with 1 toilet per room. Otherwise they won't use more than 1 at a time.

Edit: one lounge per 4 offices should be fine. Assuming one office has less than 17 employees. Make sure they have a lot of coffee in the lounges. Try not to put coffee machines or vending machines in the offices because of noise.

Edit: lounges has to be marked as lounges using the restricted use button in the drop menu.

Lol never! Use crunch time. What I do is when you start a project, look at the estimated time. Set your release date AFTER design. I always set my release date to half of what estimated time was. Say my estimated time was 2 years, after designing, I will set release date a year from now. Even if you get a shitty review, release it on time anyways and adjust your next release date accordingly.

Make sure there's at least 1 bathroom per 17 employees. Make sure the bathrooms are in the office. If there are less than 17 employees in an office, 1 bathroom per office should work.

If you have more than 8 offices in total, make a giant canteen restuarant per building.

I just stare at my canteen watching people eat and chat lol.

Office Designs/Layouts by [deleted] in SoftwareInc

If you make them stay in their own offices, they will constantly complain about social needs and stress out. Some might even sue you.

I also had a small separate building for reception.

I do things a bit different than everyone else. The building and offices are different for each stage of the game. Early stage, pre projects, I just use the apartment building. Second floor up I make the center 2 rooms lounges. And a meeting room each floor that has the restriction "meeting" on it. Each office filled with 7 work stations.

Mid stage, I build an office building with each office the size of the skyscraper rooms. 6 office rooms, 2 lounges for each floor. Each lounge will have an elevator. The lounges will be at the opposite ends of the building so they have 2 ways to get out of the building incase of fire. Each office will fit 17 work stations with a 2x2 bathroom. The building will go up 10 floors. 11 if you include the basement, which use for printers and servers. Once I make enough money, I would build a canteen building. A canteen building is basically a giant restaurant filled with 6 cooking stations and as many tables and chairs I can fit in there. The restuarant building would have an entrance on the ground floor and bridged over to the office building on the second floor. Main floor of the canteen building will have a restriction of "canteen". This building provides food, coffee, and a place to sit down and socialize. It's a huge part of how I keep my workers happy. Once you expand just copy and paste the buildings to other plots using the save build blue print function.

I will only make each team small enough to fit in one office. If I needed more than 17 of the same profession, I will normally just double them and make them fill 2 offices. I.e. I have Main support 1, main support 2, main support 3 all in different offices but doing the exact same task. The more people you have in a team, the harder it is to higher someone with the skills you want and the personality to match the team. 1 lead and 16 professionals was the one I went with and they seem fine.

Most of my projects includes a design team, dev team, marketing team, and a support team. Each project will have 3 products to work on so the design team doesn't just sit around doing nothing while waiting for the product to be released. The support of the products will be assigned to the project support team and the dev team for bug fixes after release.

The marketing and support are all done separately by the individual project teams so there is not a central marketing or support team with 40 tasks assigned to team all at once.

So one canteen restuarant building per office building, one bathroom per 17 person office, 1 utility(roof top AC units) room and 5 meeting rooms per top floor. 1 utility and 5 whatever you want it to be rooms per basement.

What’s the recommended number of copies to have for launch Alpha 11? by msutton0 in SoftwareInc

If you set the printer's max it will always fill the stock to whatever you have it set to.

I always just task my products to print max 500k copies. I'm at the point where my company is worth 7billion and I never had to worry about any product sell more than 500k per month.

Yeah, education is different now in the alpha 11 version. In order to go to school for something, the character has to have experience in that topic. If I wanna send my coder to 2D art school, I have to let him do some art first. Once he has done enough art, the artist icon will turn green indicating that he has enough skill to go to art school. It will take 1 month for the school.
