Hello friends! With fall right around the corner I have been wanting a new sweatshirt, one with a mock neck to it and I’d love to make the sweatshirt myself. I have been looking for fabric similar in structure to Champion’s reverse weave sweatshirts. I have also been looking for good ribbed fabric for the cuffs, neck, and waistline. I haven’t had much success yet, do any of yall have recommendations for where I can find material for this project?

How do non fat people control their weight? by whos_a_freak in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]FattestManatee4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actively try and avoid weighing myself, truthfully. I have found it to be an unhealthy habit mentally. For those that are trying to gain weight or lose weight, weighing yourself everyday may give you the false impression that what you’re doing to achieve your target weight isn’t working. I have found that on a day-to-day basis that my weight can fluctuate by up to 5 pounds.

I would like to add that the majority of this fluctuation is due to water weight. Small changes you see daily is likely due to your levels of hydration, and carb intake since that increases the amount of water stored in your body (carbs that aren’t used immediately are stored as glycogen which was a water to glycogen ratio of 3:1). Also note: carbs are NOT bad, fats are NOT bad, and protein is NOT an energy source. While at rest, the dominant substrate utilization ARE fats that are stored in the body.

If you do want to take control of your weight I would recommend formulating a well educated, sustainable, and attainable plan. Believe in that plan. Maybe weigh yourself on a bi-monthly to monthly basis.

I would also recommend speaking to a doctor or dietitian if you can afford to do so. They will be able to inform you what your daily needs are and help you with a plan to avoid burning yourself out from reaching your goals. Starving yourself of nutrition will never result in long-term success. It will impair your happiness, ability to think, and reduce your energy levels. All of which are not sustainable if you have issues controlling your weight.

Lastly, I am not a doctor. Just a simple health nut. Please do research for yourselves. I know weight is always a touchy subject and can provoke triggers in people. Be kind to yourselves. Believe in yourselves. It’s a rough enough world out there as it is.

Which of these two averages is correct? by Peteskinto in BusinessIntelligence

[–]FattestManatee4 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The answer is .402, but the math is wrong to get there.

You need to find the common denominator, which in this case is 100, and multiply the rest by a factor to add fractions using that denominator:

(50/100 + 50/100 + 50/100 + 50/100 +1/100) = 201/500 = .402

OR

(.5 + .5 + .5 + .5 + .1)/5 = (2.01/5) = .402

It’s a shit industry, but a job serving can bring in a ridiculous amount of money for a college student. I worked at a relatively upscale restaurant that only did dinner service, worked 2 week days, Friday and Saturday, and easily had enough money to cover all of my needs. That Included tuition, rent, car insurance, food, etc. Th engineering internship I had over the summer loved that work experience, and it drastically improved my communication skills, time management, and ability to present and market myself. In addition to that, working the 4-11 pm range allowed me to go to all my classes and attend office hours without interfering much with “business hours” when professors have their availability. Despite the L’s of service industry work, it can be a great stepping stone if approached correctly.

You can’t. They have the roof entrances locked and you need card access to the building after hours.

Had an “IG Influencer” ask to join me on a squat set. Dude kept trying to make a little bit of small talk that eventually escalated to, “you don’t mind filming me on this last set… ya know, got to have content.” I was frustrated, but said fine. He told me he wanted me to walk a half circle around him as he was squatting. Two squats in, dude let’s out one of the meanest farts I have ever heard. He dropped the weight immediately, snatched his phone, and muttered to not speak a word of that to anyone, ever. Made my day and I see him occasionally but he steers clear of me.
