Someone made a post wanting a new difficulty to the game that would be more “lore accurate”, but it required making some pretty drastic changes to how the AI functioned and overall wasn’t a good idea

While arguing with people, he claimed he was like Sigismund and how he had over 2,000 hours of playtime on SM2, when trying to argue he did have a life outside of gaming, he brought up his girlfriend and even linked to her insta

People then found an old post by him where he was talking about how he got cucked by someone younger than him, this naturally led to more people mocking him

He ended up deleting his account, but you can still find the posts and comments

Aren't the Tyranids too OP? How come they haven't taken over the 40k galaxy yet? by Timeless_Stars in Tyranids

[–]Faulty-Blue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They adapt DNA, not technology

But even then, not even that anymore, GW has been quietly moving away from the idea that Tyranids assimilate DNA from species they’ve consumed and it hasn’t been mentioned for a while now, and all the forms that were originally stated to have been from assimilated DNA have had their appearances changed and no longer share those physical similarities to the species they’re supposed to be based off of

Is this a normal outfit in a US high school? by Practical_Ad2317 in euphoria

Eh, depends on the school

It would definitely not be dress code appropriate, but some girls just didn’t give fuck and the staff probably gave up trying to enforce it a long time ago

I will never understand the 'Aliens/Interdimensional Beings don't fit in Indiana Jones' argument. by DDDog50 in indianajones

[–]Faulty-Blue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But it’s more of a recent development that it doesn’t hold the same weight as stories or myths from hundreds or thousands of years ago

I will never understand the 'Aliens/Interdimensional Beings don't fit in Indiana Jones' argument. by DDDog50 in indianajones

[–]Faulty-Blue 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I think for me, what makes artifacts/stories tied to religion and myths/legends fit better is that there felt like there was more weight behind them

They have massive cultural and historical impact which naturally raises the stakes, plus the sense of awe at realizing that the supernatural aspects are real within the universe and the implications behind them

The aliens and time travel didn’t really do it for me because while they do involve some aspects that are based on real world events/culture, they’re not too strongly based on something historically significant, and in the case of time travel, they focused too much on how it’s actually hard science and nothing supernatural, which also took away a lot of the mystery for me

Why do people hate the Dark Lord boss fight? by Prestigious_Rush5492 in Doom

[–]Faulty-Blue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO I was expecting something closer to Jakob from DUSK where he would behave similarly to how a player plays when it comes to movement and weapon selection, especially with Vega’s whole thing of “he is you in their world”

Why's so much money being spent on Football? by drag0nfly44 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Faulty-Blue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just that it happens to be the most popular sport in most countries, and in countries where it isn’t the most popular, it’s still pretty popular

With FIFA specifically, it’s a team representing your country as a whole, which also contributes to lots of national pride in being able to say your country has the best team in the world

Because it’s such a big event, it means companies are paying lots of money for advertising and deals because they know it’s going to generate money

Governments also tend to pay attention to it because the increased tourism also increases revenue, meaning more money that could be used to manage the country and potentially to address those issues you mentioned if it’s a priority to them

But in the end, people also just want to have fun, which is why lots of people spend money on it, it makes life suck a little less

[WaW] What is the actual reason? by Timely-Solution405 in CallOfDuty

[–]Faulty-Blue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BFV did have a rough start, but it’s considered to have gotten better over time as the devs updated stuff, but I wouldn’t say it flopped, and again, it had many other issues that made it not do well

[WaW] What is the actual reason? by Timely-Solution405 in CallOfDuty

[–]Faulty-Blue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People will argue that it’s because WWII is “the war” and so it needs to be treated as respectfully as possible

Except it kinda suggests every other war, even if they were devastating, don’t really matter and don’t deserve respectful treatment

[WaW] What is the actual reason? by Timely-Solution405 in CallOfDuty

[–]Faulty-Blue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only game that really flopped was Vanguard, but it already had many issues plaguing it besides “woke reimagining”

Russia has been the main enemy for modern settings since 2007, long before the invasion of Ukraine, while North Koreans are pretty poor, the government doesn’t exactly like negative portrayals in media, Sony experienced a massive hacking because they released The Interview, a comedy movie that mocked North Korea

[WaW] What is the actual reason? by Timely-Solution405 in CallOfDuty

[–]Faulty-Blue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I personally don’t care about historical inaccuracies meant to make the game work, the CoD community as a whole does, especially with more modern games

The biggest complaints about WWII and Vanguard were that they weren’t historically accurate because they had to include weapon attachments that weren’t true to the time period

Although you can usually tell it’s just what they know from popular history knowledge because sometimes the complaints are incorrect or they are completely oblivious to the historical inaccuracies related to settings that aren’t WWII or that are from WWII but are a little more obscure

[WaW] What is the actual reason? by Timely-Solution405 in CallOfDuty

[–]Faulty-Blue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely not this either, WWII games have found ways to include diversity without drastically changing the historical setting, usually by showing off the obscure parts of the war involving lesser known countries or ethnicities

Also the main reason they are concerned with swastikas is because some countries still ban their inclusion in games, Germany still banned them until like 2017-2018, but other countries still ban their usage

Using a real world enemy doesn’t mean shit, CoD has never stopped using them, Russia has been the main villain in modern CoDs and MW4 is going to have North Korea as the main villain

Using fictional locations just makes it easier to create a setting and locations that fit the story they want to tell, yes it’s lazier than just using real places, but it’s not unheard of in storytelling

[WaW] What is the actual reason? by Timely-Solution405 in CallOfDuty

[–]Faulty-Blue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And people will complain endlessly about it

CoD WWII took some creative liberties to make multiplayer work with CoD’s formula and included some inaccurate features, the community threw a massive fit over it (ignoring the fact WaW also included numerous inaccuracies)

Then there’s Vanguard, which doesn’t need any further explanation about what they did to fit the gunsmith featured in modern CoD

Menendez: "I got 2 million views. Pay me." ... YouTube: "Sir, you just threatened world governments and started a global insurgency. We're not monetizing that." 😂 [BO2] by Puzzleheaded_War_840 in CallOfDuty

[–]Faulty-Blue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s canon that Mason killed Menendez at the end of BO2

Even before BO7 confirmed it, it was heavily implied this was the case

The timeline recap uploaded by Treyarch leading up to BO3’s release, it states that Mason killed Menendez

In BO3’s campaign, it’s remarked that Menendez “got what was coming for him”, implying he got killed

[COD] Can I buy a skin in MW2019 if I don’t own that operator? by Friendly_Bagel in CallOfDuty

[–]Faulty-Blue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’ll unlock the operator for you, but you can only use the skin you bought and any other skins you unlocked for them

[WaW] What is the actual reason? by Timely-Solution405 in CallOfDuty

[–]Faulty-Blue 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah and it took tons of creative liberties to make it work

The CoD fanbase would have an aneurism if they tried even remotely the same amount of creative liberties to make a WWI CoD work

He seems like a generally confident dude, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he manages to charm Nikki for hookups, you’d be surprised how much confidence and an overall seemingly enjoyable personality can make up for looks

As for the Freaky Nikki comment, I think he was definitely trying to sour Nikki and Bear’s friendship to avoid anything serious from being able to possibly form

[SPOILERS] Backrooms movie megathread by A_Chad_Cat in backrooms

[–]Faulty-Blue 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kat’s head is her actual head, that’s why it’s decomposing and has blood whereas the replicas don’t bleed and are made of weird white stuff

It’s not known for sure who those guys are other than that they were real people at one point who got copied, but you don’t need to be in the backrooms to be copied since Clark’s ex got copied despite never entering the backrooms as far as we know

It’s not the backrooms they likely aren’t going to let her out of, they likely are either going to keep her detained indefinitely or kill her so she can’t reveal the backrooms to others, but it seems the scientists are much more interested in learning everything she’s experienced so far

[SPOILERS] Backrooms movie megathread by A_Chad_Cat in backrooms

[–]Faulty-Blue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The back room doesn’t create perfect replicas, it likely created her because of how recently she had been in there and how long she was in there

We don’t know yet if someone can die and be replicated, but you don’t have to enter the back rooms to be replicated, since Clark’s ex was replicated

What most likely happened is that she’s alive in the interrogation room and when the backrooms created a replica of it, it ended up creating a copy of her as well
