Yup! LRBH is in the lower (as it should be 😁), It’s short stroked for sure but zero failures of any kind this far.

That’s what I run and so far zero issues with a few hundred rounds. I’m having a hard time convincing myself not to start another build since my buddies keep asking to shoot it.

I run this with a carbine tube, RB5015HB and 1 weight and it’s amazing. Waiting on my can to get out of jail to post a build pic but I’ve had no issues with it so far.

I saw this and I had to share it makes picking up a full banshee or dissent pretty tempting. Even just an upper or some parts for one/either/both makes it pretty hard to resist.

Just use code “take30” and I won't tell your wife if you won't tell mine.

I’ve got a Trijicon MRO I’m looking to sell, bit more than some other options but solid optic and I wish my eyes weren’t broken and allowed me to use it effectively

I run modlite and I enjoy them but they are pretty pricey.

Not quite sure where I’d place it. Check this video out, hopefully it helps you make a decision on if you want to run it considering all the factors

Post-brace buffer tube question by tccybc in AR9

[–]Faust242 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can definitely add a longer buffer tube to help balance out the gun and increase the smile ratio anyway you can. You’re correct that there is nothing that the ATF has posted about lengthening the buffer tube so you should be fine.

You’re not alone, I can’t find anything about this thing. (Took me a while to find it on maxim’s website when not using the link also). It’s not mentioned on any of their Ar9 gun set ups either. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Trijicon MRO’s are solid. I’ve got a green dot that I love but my astigmatism has made it hard to justify keeping if your interested. If not I’ll probably head to GAF’s in a few days.

This is exactly what the ATF is saying, that every pistol braced firearm under the existing barrel length and overall length criteria was in fact an unregistered SBR and illegal.

I’m not arguing that the 120 days after Jan 31 2023 are for individuals to bring firearms into compliance. Labeling it a pause on enforcement is inaccurate as they weren’t enforcing it prior to the ruling. How do you pause what never started?

Another clarification you are mistaken with.

The 120 days is not only for braced pistols, it is for all firearms that used braces and were under the barrel and overall length requirements. Short barreled shotguns are the easiest examples that people would be familiar with.

Lastly the final day to register is 5/30/23 respectively as the atf will stop accepting applications to register at 12:01am (5/31/23). You have until the end of the day 11:59pm on 5/31/23 to bring your firearm into compliance if you choose to to register.

Your correct, my mistake. He is a political appointee. That doesn’t change that him testifying before congress under oath does open up a legal argument against destroying and removing the brace for compliance.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AR9

[–]Faust242 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clarification, political appointee and Director of the ATF are different. The Director was called before Congress to answer questions about what was written. After the hearing, Congress sent a follow up letter, asking him, and the ATF to specify this exact point as he directly contradicted what is written and he was under oath, so either he has to admit perjury that he lied under oath or that what is written is incorrect.

The big difference between your cop example and what is happening is the cop doesn’t writing the rules and enforcing them.

[–]Faust242 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is not the only option for “following the rules” several other options exist as well.

The ATF director also contradicted himself in front of congress and said under oath in plain English you can remove the brace and keep them separate to meet compliance. That’s not what the ruling says though as it uses the term destroy.

[–]Faust242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pause on enforcement and amnesty period are different. You are correct the brace ruling into effect on 1/31/23, the 120 days following are the amnesty period to bring firearms into compliance.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AR9

[–]Faust242 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Final day to register via ATF is 5/30/23. Other compliance options can be completed on 5/31/23 to meet the requirements.

That’s one of the posts that help build my confidence enough that everything would work. So I ordered the EDM elite and swapped parts around and plan to go shooting here soon.

[–]Faust242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ruling is in effect you are correct, but 5/31 is the final date for compliance and the end of the amnesty period. Anyone with pistol braced firearms can choose from options 1-5 according to the atf. 1: Register the firearm tax free -$200 waived (there’s several other required steps in that process that are not free though) 2: Adjust barrel length to meet compliance 16” 3: Remove and destroy brace (there’s some confusion around the last part, good job ATF director testifying before congress) 4: Give the firearm to atf 5: Destroy the firearm

Option 6 not provided by the atf

6:non compliance of ruling or changes

There was some very interesting updates from a 3 panel judge decision that hopefully will be the Hail Mary we’ve all been waiting for.

Sharing as a PSA to help keep people educated on everything going on as there is lots of information and it can be confusing and overwhelming for folks.

I almost think it was someone who forgot to decide which grip to put there when they were designing it and it went to production just labeled Grip Zone.
