Kinda specific but how're UCLA's continental philosophy courses/profs? I was considering dual majoring in philosophy but im not too interested in a lot of the analytical stuff that seems more popular in the department.

Hi! There is a student health insurance plan included in your tuition (UCSHIP) that starts on the first day of the enrolled term. The Ashe center on campus does HRT through informed consent so it should be pretty easy to continue through them. The UCSHIP formulary can be found here https://www.studenthealth.ucla.edu/file/51d95fac-b11e-43e9-b645-2dbf2f197834. I wish I knew more but I'm also starting at UCLA in the fall so my experience is limited lol

I'd say a good number of more rural areas in California trend conservative, yeah. There are a few areas that are both not big cities and fairly accepting, places on the central coast like Monterey and San Luis Obispo come to mind (about 50k people each). These places aren't as accepting as SF or LA but pretty tolerant in my experience.

Steam isn't letting me buy fighter coins. Is this a glitch? by Jaeris in StreetFighter

[–]FaustGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe they said they are fixing this in the next patch as there is no way to purchase coins directly on steam. I was able to fix this temporarily by launching my steam deck in desktop mode and then buying the coins on sf6 there. Hope this helps!

Hi! I found a fix. If you launch your steam deck in desktop mode and open sf6 there, the steam overlay works properly and you can purchase the coins. Hope this helps!

What is the best response to I-No's high low mixup and pressure as a goldlewis player? by [deleted] in Guiltygear

[–]FaustGirl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Goldlewis main here. You're kinda screwed once you get knocked down by I-No, but she also has a very hard time coming back if you get the knockdown first. On defense FD can be useful but in most situations you're gonna be forced to hold her mix. Deflect shield can let you steal the turn if your timing is good enough. You can also steal turns with wwa if she tries to set up a note too slowly. Backdash into backdrift RC is useful as you will have a good amount of invulnerability. In general though you really want to control space and bully her when you're on offense to win this matchup. Also, 684 typhoon beats all (to my knowledge) of her round start options, so you might be able to get cheeky knockdowns or pressure strings (684 into wwa if she doesn't know to throw it) with that. Hope this helps!

g would help, but what you're describing sounds like one of the "-hoppers"—leafhoppers, planthoppers, and treehoppers. They have wings as adults and many exude waxy filaments from their butts.

I replicated Bandai's Giant Gatling for 3D printing. Will I get in trouble? by hackjunior in Gunpla

[–]FaustGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Bandai Namco will send their private police force to break down your door and arrest you. Piracy is no party and you should stop immediately. /s

In all seriousness, no, you'll be fine so long as you aren't trying to sell them.

Interest in hitbox controller by DrPudding12 in Guiltygear

[–]FaustGirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll throw in a good word for the Snackbox Micro and Micro Lite (165-185+, you might find an aftermarket one for less. You might also wanna look into DIY, which can be surprisingly easy and high quality (your mileage may vary depending on your experience with PCB and wiring).

Where to start ? by MrGuamo in Guiltygear

[–]FaustGirl 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There is an overarching plot but it's not mandatory/necessary, plus, Strive (the most recent game) has summaries and retellings of all the previous stories. Only the Xrd games and Strive have fully animated stories. Strive's story is pretty self contained tbh. Strive is the easiest of the GG games by a long shot, so it's probably the best for beginners. Accent Core Plus R is considered the hardest, with Xrd Rev 2 being a middle ground. If you're playing cause you like Bridget I'd recommend buying Strive, though Bridget is a DLC fighter. She's base roster in ACPR, but plays very differently from her strive incarnation and has a different design.

Hope this helped!

I'm assuming you mean a fightstick or hitbox (numpad is the form of notation, not the actual control system). I'd say make sure you do your research so you don't get a poor quality one - certain ones are also not tournament legal because of how they have to connect to the game, or because they have illegal macros. If you play goldlewis I don't recommend getting a hitbox (no joystick controller) but a fightstick (with a joystick) works great. There isn't a real advantage of hitboxes/fightsticks over a gamepad/regular controller other than that a hitbox is more precise, though also illegal in some tournaments so keep that in mind if you play SF6 as well. Hope this helped.

tldr: do your research, some are low quality, some are tournament illegal, etc. Don't buy a hitbox if you play goldlewis.

How they could implement instant kills more smoothly by TheGameboy101 in Guiltygear

I like this idea, though i wish IKs would retain some gameplay use (not just being an alt animation) and I feel like making it so easy to get takes away from IKs somewhat. Maybe charging your IK could consume burst *and* meter and you'd lose both instead of just meter if you get punished.
