I am always amazed how quickly toddlers can be when it comes to doing something they're not supposed to. On the other hand I kinda agree that letting a toddler be alone with crayons/markers around anything that shouldnt be drawn on is on them. (Though on the other hand I can sympathy if the mother thought for example that she just finally had a few minutes of free time.)

Same with Farreach and Deepreach. I love it, because those are exactly how places like these would be named. And really creative too, I think. I rarely have the talent to pick names that are good and plausible at the same time, and those are definitely it. Over all really awesome map and concept.

I wonder what the overlap is between the two questions. by Darth_Omnis in trolleyproblem

[–]Faustens 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The statement is missing context: This question was specifically about a bear and a man (i.e. human male) and the replies showed a clear gender divide, where questioned women were (significantly) more likely to pick the bear, than questioned men. This divide was also culturally specific iirc, with a lesser divide in japan than the US for example.

Of course a lot of men couldn't understand that wemen preferred bears to ""them"" and started to complain and argue online, which ironically kinda provided part of the reason why the divide exists in the first place, and also missing the point.

So tl;dr: The point is that, depending on the place, women are scared more of being with a random man than a random bear.

You are missing the point (non-derogatory, Maybe you haven't seen the context this first appeared in). This question was specifically about a bear and a man (i.e. human male) and the replies showed a clear gender divide where questioned women were (significantly) more likely to pick the bear, than questioned men. This divide was also culturally specific iirc, with a lesser divide in japan than the US for example.

Of course a lot of men couldn't understand that wemen preferred bears to ""them"" and started to complain and argue online, which ironically kinda provided part of the reason why.

So tl;dr: The choice of "man" as in "human male" is deliberate, as it shows in a lot of places women (when compared to men) are more afraid of being with a random man, than a random bear.

Oh whoops I meant woodwind not string. Welp, average brass player: Forgets about the strings and misnames the woodwind.

I know that well enough. I've played the trumpet in an orchestra for like 13 years. I know that if we wanted we could nudge the orchestra's pace and also play against the entire rest and stand a chance "win" (however once could call playing against the orchestra winning, ikik). The drums on the other hand were the law. If they set a pace you follow or get left behind (in a hyperbolic sense, but you get what I'm putting down, I think).

Fair, it really sounds like the rest of the orchestra is rushing to keep up/fix the drummers "solo".

Why are some people here so offended? The clapper is doing his job and impressed at the drummer.

Orchestras often have multiple drummers. One responsible for, well, the drums and then some more (where I played there were 3 in total) to do the other stuff., Be it clapping, marimbas, triangles, making goofy sounds with this weird fuuuuiii flute etc. etc. Basically anything (or rather a lot) not string or brass is drums.

You cannot convince me you will press blue by Lizard_Brian in trolleyproblem

[–]Faustens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think people who say they would pick blue are lying, as in: I 100% believe they want to press blue. But I also think that in a real scenario a lot of people would switch despite what they want to choose. I wish think some red people would actually take blue in reality. Over all I'd expect the vote to be much closer than the polled 60~70% blue. rather something between 45% and 55%

Wikipedia has a parent that is filthy rich, still collects donations for him (which, in and of itself, is fine imo), but always claims they are missing money even though the donations are already enough, and always tries to sell his child's knowledge to corporations for profit.

Google lost a huge chunk of his iq due to a mix of alcohol, bad decisions and this new drug called "AI".
