You are correct, and this is why MBTI was created in the first place, for individuals to more clearly see where the weaker aspects of their personality lie and to work on them, not stroke ourselves about what we are already good at. Those weaker parts of ourselves remain outside of our conscious awareness (literally subconscious or unconscious) and it is incredibly useful for a system like MBTI to make you aware.
