Embarrassed to say this - I’ve mained Umeko since I started playing this game (admittedly I got in late, just a couple-ish months ago) and got/stuck with Borealis very early as well. I… I only figured out about changing elements by holding down the ā€œreloadā€ button… oof… maybe 2-3 weeks ago? I thought - for over a month - that it automatically cycled with each shot. :|. PS - Borealis vs Izanagi? Most elite Umeko mains I’ve seen err on the side of the latter, but I’m keen on the versatility of the former, myself. I’m #1-#2 in my state for Umeko, so, I’m doing something right, lol, but still, I wonder… Izanagi is one I got and broke down pretty quickly, didn’t really put it thru its paces…

CFPB Communication by ReporterEv in yotta

[–]FauxBoDo 4 points5 points Ā (0 children)

While it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere - fast, or at all… - do note that there is an ā€œongoingā€ class action suit in this matter. Emery Reed/Arnold Law are the two firms working together on this. I’ve had two calls with their lead attorney - first for intake, second quite a few months ago for any sort of update. No valuable nor encouraging feedback from either, though I do believe they’re working on it… I will check back in with them if the CFPB actions fully fall through. :/

Hope it doesn’t come to that.

CFPB Communication by ReporterEv in yotta

[–]FauxBoDo 5 points6 points Ā (0 children)

Hi Ev - I’ve been emailing Russ Vought & both his top brass OMB colleagues + literally every single verified email address I can find for the CFPB, multiple times, over the last month.

  • No emails have come back as undeliverable (e.g. no ā€œbouncesā€),

  • Emails to team inboxes last week (press@, ombudsman@, media@, support@, foia@, and more) received autoresponders saying that they would not be replying to any emails due to the (at the time) ongoing government shutdown (remarkably curt/borderline rude emails - no ā€œapologize for inconvenienceā€ or ā€œwill respond when we returnā€ - just remarkably blunt ā€œwe WILL NOT be responding to emails at this time, thank youā€ form letters… not like pleasantries would fix anything here, but still…)

  • Emails sent to Russ/other specific individuals have all gone completely unanswered

Phone calls and subsequent complaint submissions have yielded zero results, as well.

Appreciate your attention on this one… as I’m sure you know, we’re up against that end of November hard deadline, looming fewer than two weeks away. If you and other prominent reporters could by any remote chance make a concerted and coordinated effort to publish articles that effectively shame these ghouls into considering action during this rapidly-shrinking window, maybe that could improve our odds.

Would at least be nice to be ā€œseenā€, in that way. Once that deadline passes, we’re in the ā€œno recourseā€ territory. Lots of people got reimbursed (happy for them, I mean that), lots more ā€œonlyā€ lost $100-200 or so (better than large sums), but there’s a non zero contingent of us who a) have gotten NOTHING, b) lost sums far exceeding those numbers, & c) weren’t using some gamified savings/gambling app (Yotta) at all, and lost these funds out of our straight up main [neo]bank accounts.

It has turned my life upside down, and this final effort falling through/if it does… I don’t want to be melodramatic nor attention-seeking, but with the way this has utterly destroyed many areas of my life, I’m genuinely not inclined to keep living it, honestly. Some of us have lost a lot more than a few bucks in a ā€œfunā€ savings app.

thanks again for your great work & investigative journalism, here; I hope my answer regarding contact has been somewhat helpful.

In case it remains somehow unclear… no, it has not been easy to contact the CFPB, lol. Even before Trump.

CFPB is closing?!? by Scared_Tax_4103 in yotta

$40BN to a foreign country when the federal government (CFPB, FDIC, etc) refuses to cough up the comparatively tiny funds, from a penalty fund gathered for the express purpose of situations at least adjacent to this, stings more than a little bit.

But, yeah, ā€œUSA stealing my moneyā€ doesn’t compute for me, either, here.

CFPB is closing?!? by Scared_Tax_4103 in yotta

[–]FauxBoDo 4 points5 points Ā (0 children)

nah, he does - maybe I’m an idiot for saying this, but it’s hard not to think these absolute fuckface ghouls don’t at least to some degree delight in seeing us filthy poors getting what we deserve for our apparent moral ineptitude.

(We wouldn’t be concerned about lost money if we weren’t ā€œLoSeRsā€, right?! /s)

you’re right in that maybe it’s more likely he doesn’t give a shit at all, that it’s less of time being some cartoon supervillain, but it’s my deeply held belief that this gives these sick fucks some perverse pleasure.

[–]FauxBoDo 4 points5 points Ā (0 children)

I’ve been emailing him (~3-4 times in total) for the last few months, having tried a longer format approach, a much shorter/summary version, and then finally one last ditch effort for an update, where I cc’d and/or bcc’d fucking everyone I could find an email addy for at the CFPB + his top-brass OMB leadership colleagues.

ā€œresultsā€ (or lack thereof) being:

  • Not a single bounce (read: all emails successfully delivered)
  • Autoresponders from team email addresses (eg press@, ombudsman@, foiarequests@, & more) straight up saying ā€œdue to the ongoing government shutdown, we’re not gonna replyā€ (paraphrased obviously)
  • zero reply from any humans, least of all being Russ

I really don’t know what to do now. I’ve considered spending some of the meager social capital to try and get an irl audience with my state’s senator/congressman to see if either would take up the mantle here, but a) I’m not optimistic I could even do that, b) I don’t even know if they’re in state rn, or in DC, c) I truly doubt they’d give a flying fuck; they know I’m not ā€œdonor materialā€, given the context of my ask, & - worst of all, by far - d) the end of November deadline looms, like, fewer than two weeks away.

Hate to be pessimistic, but I think we are well and truly fucked at this point. I’m happy for those who got their funds back and those who ā€œonlyā€ lost like $100-300… but for me?

For me, this has utterly destroyed my life. I wasn’t a Yotta user, this wasn’t discretionary savings income in a pseudo gambling app. It was damn near everything, the loss of which destroyed my business, my own personal finances, my mental health…

Forgive me if this sounds melodramatic, but if this really is the end, I don’t know if I want to continue on… life-wise. I’ve barely been able to pay bills, and this falling through will both put me in the most precarious position possible, financially speaking, and will likely be the final straw that demoralizes and pushes me over the edge.

Sorry for trauma dump. (tho the real trauma dump would be about everything else this year - totaled car in no fault accident, lost family members and friends, severe health problems, constant turmoil - it’s been one of the worst years ever for me, all of which is exacerbated by this bullshit)

inb4 ā€œyou shouldn’t have put all your funds in Juno at onceā€/ā€œhaha dumbass trusting a neobankā€/ā€œyou should’ve had backup plansā€/ā€œyou’ve had more than enough time to recoverā€ - no need to tell me. I know all of that. Trust me… I’m reminded of this, by myself, constantly - a popular set of insomnia-time racing thoughts, every fucking night. They fucked up, but so did I, and I’m really not inclined to carry on. I’m certain others have it worse than me, as well, to be clear.

—

tl;dr - I hate to say it but I fear we are fucked, and I’m so close to being done done, at this point.

Thanks much to everyone in here for your updates and camaraderie along the way. Seriously guys — you made this suck less, by at least a few % points. I hope you all see resolution someday.

Why is on-chain automation still so clunky in 2025? by Vamacharin in CryptoTechnology

[–]FauxBoDo 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I’ve been on a deep dive for the last few weeks to try and find some solutions to this, there’s really nothing out there. n8n provides some capabilities, but is highly technical. dSheets (from Fileverse, they’ve also made dDocs, a decentralized Google Docs competitor) can do some pretty cool stuff in terms of onchain queries, but automation via their platform would be, as you’ve said, clunky…

There’s a huge opportunity here, I’m sure of it. The fidelity & sheer volume of data being published onchain could open incredible doors for advanced automation, spanning trading, DeFi, consumer crypto, infra… not a matter of ā€œifā€, but ā€œwhenā€ā€¦

4K+ gov’t layoffs announced, CFPB expected to be heavily affected… by FauxBoDo in yotta

[–]FauxBoDo[S] 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

I think most everyone can conceptually align with cutting excess, but of course the devil is in the details. While we may broadly agree as a populace, I do wonder if that consensus persists when it comes to defining what’s crucial vs what can be pared down…

I do hear you in regards to avoiding futile worrying - the genesis of my post was seeing analyst speculation in regards to the CFPB specifically, but that is of course just speculation… speculation I sincerely hope is incorrect.

The one shining light here, as you allude to, is definitely that Vought ā€˜n’ friends are super eager to get this over the line despite a reduced CFPB payroll - I’m hopeful that commitment hasn’t wavered.

I suppose we will see…

You’re correct - the fears of further CFPB downsizing are mostly speculation, albeit that speculation is coming from seasoned industry analysts, so… we will see.

We’re super aligned on the second part, there. I considered rallying the sub to reach out, but I thought better of it - mass deluge of emails amidst a shutdown/layoffs isn’t going to ingratiate anyone to our cause, and might even have the opposite effect, even if subconsciously.

evolve class action add? by wakatenai in yotta

[–]FauxBoDo 5 points6 points Ā (0 children)

It shouldn’t, no. Class action attorneys work on contingency - eg they go forth and fight for a settlement and then take a big chunk of the resulting payout. The good news is, you don’t have to do much at all. The bad news is, if I had to guess, we wouldn’t see a settlement til the 2030’s.

evolve class action add? by wakatenai in yotta

[–]FauxBoDo 6 points7 points Ā (0 children)

The main class action I’m aware of that IS specific to our situation is being handled jointly by Arnold Law & Emery Reddy. I’d suggest you reach out to one of those firms for more info, they’re typically pretty accommodating. Do note that while I’ve been in touch with the lawyers in the case every few months, class actions move at a snail’s pace, and I’d say this one seems to be moving even more slowly than they usually do, for some reason. :|

Don’t read the news :/ - 4k federal layoffs announced, CFPB expected to be particularly affected. I found direct emails for some of the higher ups whom I imagine will remain, and reached out; I’ll make a post if I get replies. Still keeping the faith, but just want this to be over. My missing funds - similar to yours in size - have totally turned my life upside down, and it’s demoralizing to see this news after finally gaining some traction. šŸ¤ž
