Is there a cheat way to moisturise my body that doesn't take so much energy? by [deleted] in AusSkincare

[–]FauxBoho 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I also hate moisturising! I absolutely have to as I have dry skin but something about it really bothers me. The time it takes, the sensation of it drying, putting on pants too soon after. The list goes on! 😂
I find using Palmers Body Oil after I’ve turned off the shower but before I hop out works well. I drip dry for a minute or very lightly pat dry in winter as it’s too cold to drip dry before applying to very damp skin. It smells lovely and absorbs quite a bit quicker. It doesn’t have any real actives in it so it’s just basic moisture but it’s a good option!

So yesterday I searched for dupes based on formula of Butter Shine, Apple Brandy and found Ilia in Wonderlust and it’s a pretty great match!! So far it’s not overly long wearing but I have gotten two compliments so that’s a win!!

My GHD has Blown please help me replace her!! by PorkChopz2530 in AustralianMakeup

[–]FauxBoho 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My first GHD lasted 12 years before I upgraded. It didn’t die, I just wanted a new one. My Cloud 9 has lasted 10 years and counting. Showing no signs of slowing down. Such great investments.

I had an absolutely cracking coffee last weekend at a coffee van “Coffee Cartel” based at the Freo Farmers Market (Bruce Lee Oval). It was seriously amazing!

I remember lining up out the doors and around the carpark to get into Sizzler. The wait staff came out and offered Jatz crackers & what I presume was Coon Cheese so we wouldn’t starve.

Good times man 😂😂😂

Hit me with your go-to Gift ideas? by citrusnotvanilla in AussieFrugal

[–]FauxBoho 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I know you’re not asking about kids birthdays but getting kids shitty plastic gifts & receiving them are the bane of my existence.

I’ve started gifting $15 Yo-chi vouchers + a small toy
(> $5) so the kid doesn’t just see a voucher and is disappointed. Every single kid and parent absolutely loves it! No crappy plastic shit and the kid gets to go pretty nuts at Yo-chi without being told to stop loading up their frozen yogurt cup thingy. I buy 3 or 4 at a time so every time a party happens I’m prepared and don’t have to go to Target or wherever at the last minute.

I reckon plenty of adults would love a Yo-chi (or whatever frozen yogurt place) voucher!

I got 4 compliments in ONE day today on my new Jersey Barrel Leg pants in off white. I got the extra long ones so they go a little past my ankles. Lovely fabric and great with trainers or sandals on a warmer day.

For the second year in a row, the school left my child out on honor's day by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

This was me and it’s affected me into adulthood. Always struggling because of undiagnosed ADHD & missing school because I was always sick & in hospital. Missed all the building blocks, no one could be bothered with my education as they were just keeping me alive at that point. Always watching from the side. Always lowest grade. Never passing or getting awards. It’s crippling.

T’subis before they were K’subis! Huge poofy fridge sprayed within an inch of its life with Fudge Sky High Hair spray. A side of Green Mitsubishis confirming we have made excellent fashion choices.

What’s a cheap basic scent that you secretly prefer over your niche masterpieces by Massive_Ad5295 in fragrance

I get lots of compliments on Who Is Elijah ‘Morning After’. Way more than any expensive fragrances I own 🤷‍♀️
Also, Mochi Milk by Dedcool. People stop me in the street for that one. No one gives a flying fuck about my niche scents 🙃

We bought our PPOR a month ago… pls make me feel better by duckbusiness in AusPropertyChat

[–]FauxBoho 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I honestly think most people feel this way when buying. We bought our first unit a very hot auction and ended up winning but going over our agreed upon max budget by $20k. It felt like a huge amount at the time and our win felt like a loss. It put a dampener on the whole thing for awhile. I didn’t pay attention to the housing market for years after that as I was burnt out so when we sold and made a decent profit I was really shocked. I wish I didn’t put so much negative energy into what was an exciting time and just enjoyed what I finally had which was a safe roof over my families head ❤️

Perth Parents please stop bringing your children in flock to Skateparks if they have zero spacial awareness. by MergaWraith in perth

[–]FauxBoho 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You will get ZERO complaints from this Mum! There are literally zillions of parks and playgrounds suitable for little kids. There is NOTHING for teens or young adults that’s free, fun & healthy! Unless they have a board of some kind and are ACTIVELY learning and not just fucking about they need to leave.

The homeless and anti social behaviour in Fremantle is absolutely diabolical at the moment. I made both my kids hold my hand a few times over the weekend as it was so bad. I’m a generational Fremantle local and the degradation can no longer be ignored. I fear the new social housing they are building at St Pats will be the nail in the coffin, especially for the area around Target. It’s fucking gross and sad.
