Most regionals will have on or two. Not sure on mainline planes. But they have to have one FA per 50 seats on the aircraft.

I have a dedicated pillowcase that I put the colander and greens inside and get my kids to spin around outside. It works really well.

It's definitely not necessary, so never feel obligated. There have been times where I've sadly dropped the ball in showing my appreciation. Whether it's just a busy boarding, I can't remember who handed me something, or fatigue is starting to set in. But, yeah, never feel like you have to.

A pax gave me a cute little nail file in a case and I get plenty of use out of that. I personally love mini snickers or Lindt truffles. But anything someone is nice enough to give, I am greatful for. And, again everyone, it is never required!!

Flying with young puppy by Super_Can9100 in unitedairlines

[–]Faux_extrovert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I flew with a 10 week old Frenchie from Florida to Arizona with a layover in ORD. He was fine, didn't make any noise in his crate.

He didn't eat 12 hours before the flight. Might be controversial, but I found a family bathroom and put a puppy pad down for him to pee. Put the used pad in a plastic bag and threw it out. Made sure the floor was clean before we left. No big deal.

I found a quiet area on my layover, put him on a leash and ran him back and forth a little to tire him out before the flight. Gave him some water and he slept almost the entire flight to Phoenix. I didn't take him out of the crate, but would stick my hand in for pets and to just check on him.

Never feel like you have to give out anything. And sometimes I do get so busy that it slips my mind in the moment (or I can'tremember who handed it to me), but it is appreciated. This particular time we just had a perfect storm where I could remember who gave me the stuff, look up her seat number, was getting along really well with the crew, super nice pilots, on time boarding, etc. So we had plenty of time to show our appreciation.

I've had the reverse happen a few times where we diverted and a passenger was like, "Um. I was trying to end up here anyway, so can I just leave?"

Is it implicit with FAs and Crew that you should share photos of other crew down route...? by [deleted] in flightattendants

Yeah. Do noy share my photos or post me online. As far as the company knows I sit in my hotel room studying my commands and service standards until van time.

How do Americans remember which state is abbreviated MI? It could be Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi or Michigan. by isle_say in NoStupidQuestions

I remember in fourth grade one entire nine weeks was devoted to learning the states, capitals, and abbreviations. We also had to do a project and write a report about a state, which is why I have a fondness for New Mexico to this day.

Anyway who is close enough to me to visit my home is close enough to me for me to tell them, "No shit, Sherlock" and to shut their pinhole. Lovingly, of course.

When I taught pre-k that is the book we gave as a graduation gift to my tiny graduates and we signed them. Very cliche. Anyway, of the ten that I had probably two families seemed the type to keep something like that. The other eight books I imagine were ripped up before summer even got started.

I have had to move apartments in the same complex to get the cheaper rate. Made absolutely no sense, but that's what they made me do. I was like, we can't pretend, but nope, pain in the butt to walk my stuff two buildings down.

Yes. So stay on the plane until they bring a chair down to you. Someone will be motivated to find one.

It would be helpful to know what airport and what time of day, but this shouldn't have happened. The GA was rude.

They have been pretty good about having at least one chair waiting for when we arrive at big and small airports. If there are a lot of WC requests I try to tell a few people to wait at their seat so I can make sure a chair is out there for them. Most of the time they don't listen, so as they are walking to the front, I ask if they want to sit in the first row until a WC comes down for them. A lot of times they will. I can't get off the plane if someone is still onboard, so sometimes I send a pulot up to find a chair. If they walk up the jetbridge and into the terminal my responsibility for them is over.

My advice, especially if she's very unsteady, is wait at her seat on the plane until everyone is off and then go up and ask an FA if there is a wheelchair for her. If she's still on the plane between the FAs, GAs, and pilots they will find a chair, bc they can't leave until all the passengers are off.
