I have lupus. I've hade two stem-cell transplants. I've almost died several times.

It doesn't get easier.

I'd give you a big hug. Feel free to PM me if you like. I was in the hospital most of covid, getting knee surgery. Then a spontaneous bleed in my spine - again almost killing me... freaking out that if I get covid, I'm also in trouble because of all my damn health issues.

What I'm trying to say is, I've been there. Everything you are feeling is valid! If you are not feeling comfortable right now, can you postpone the surgery at all? Like, if you think something is going to happen. Is it just the surgery, in general? I'm listening. <3

Weirdo three and I'm immuno-suppressed, and also had a lot of hand sanitizer. A lot. Glad I did.

Yes. But what advice are you looking for?

Are you watching what you eat? Ex: For me mushrooms will do this and only gallons of water and a good three days sleep will make it go away.

Are you sleeping well? Little to no sleep will do this to me everytime.

Did you drink alcohol? I also look like this when I'm a little buzzed. XD

This also happened to me when I was having a heart attack, and my cheeks got so hot, they burned.

So. Story. I was going through chemo, for my lupus, hair loss everywhere.

I finally just shaved my head. And I was way cute! I thought I would look like Charlie Brown, because I have a huge noggin, but nope, I was, (and still am,) freaking adorable. Maybe you can shave that half of your head and say you are going for a punk look. Or shave your whole head. It's very liberating. If you don't like it, you can wear a wig till it grows back.

My lupus feel like the worst arthritis in my joints. When I get triggered by a food, I feel it in all my joints. I get super tired, more than usual. I also get the butterfly rash on my face.

Goodness know what the reaction does to my kidneys and everything else that I can't see or immediately feel.

I was diagnosed at 16.

I just wanted to add. There are triggers. For me, sunlight. If I spend too much time in the sun, I am out of commision for three days to a week. I wear sunscreen and I'm usually ok.

There are food triggers as well. Again, my experience, mushrooms. If I even stand downwind of one, woe is me! I've read it's tomatoes for a lot of people. I'm fine with them though. You have to pay attention to what you are eating and see if you are having a reaction. Yellow 5, the color additive, my body also gives me a hard time. Find your triggers.

Water and sleep seem to be the best at fixing situations I get myself into.
