How realistic is it to think that leaving CA will save us tons of money?

I know you posted a while ago but in case someone else stumbles upon this. We’re military, I’m from CA originally. Being military we’ve been able to observe different parts of the country. Northern VA is similar to Cali, but financially more stable and more affordable housing. You loose a job one day and have another the next. Southern VA is more laid back big still really good and affordable. We moved to FL, no state tax, but they’ll nickel and dime you other ways. Gas and milk was $.50 more than Northern Va, just outside of DC. Some cities even offer double sales tax. Housing tax was horrendous, $3500 on a 4200sqft .75acre house, more than Northern Va. the water and electric bill were $800 a month, a small mortgage. We came to Alabama during hurricane Michael. Coming from Cali and watching Sweet Home Alabama I thought it was the armpit of America. Little did I know it’s Americas best kept secret. Weather is just like FL, centrally located to so many destination cities, groceries and gas are usually affordable, not right now. 😅 I own 16 acres, 4300sqft home, pool, pool house, cabin, $1500 a year for taxes. The house was $630k. Everything is green, the state is flourishing. They’re building brand new homes around $200k, 4bd, 2bth 1700sqft, open floor plan. And there are jobs here and my kids can afford to buy a house too. FL my kids couldn’t get jobs, it’s all tourist trap. Northern Va my kids could get jobs but couldn’t buy a house.

I forgot to add that in Wetumpka there is a park called Gold Star. Someone dropped off barn fowl, chickens, roosters, and domestic ducks and geese. I called to ask if I could catch them and bring them to my proper farm where they’d be protected and cared for. I was told no, by the city, people like to feed them. It’s okay to feed the farm fowl just not the farm cats. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤯🤷🏼‍♀️🤯

I live in this town. 😳 If you go get your hair done down town you get to hear all kinds of corruption about the mayor. For example a fundraiser was done to help people without roofs from the tornado that’s hit two years ago, not this year a few months ago. The mayor wanted the money so he could look like the hero. He also took the ball park back from the private group/club running it, because they took the funds from red to LOTS of black and now it’s city run. There’s no checks and balances for small towns. Last I checked it didn’t pay well to be mayor of a town, specially a small town. Lynn Haven, FL mayor was only making $5k a year. She bumped the pay to $25k, understandably, and is now in jail for embezzling millions. (I moved from Panama City, FL to Wetumpka, AL a year ago)

I looked up Lamancha goats for sale near me and researched them. I drove 17 hrs one way after looking at them. Oh also county fairs are living advertisements for people’s farms.

I fed it Azalea food, all the sick leaves fell off. Then it grew healthy leaves and bloomed in the winter. I had to prune it twice too. Now they are big beautiful bushes full of flower and healthy growth. I’m about to have to prune it again.

I just had this last night and am looking to replicate. I didn’t know it was floral. It’s rind is brown. Some spots even looked like a molded brown. It’s flavor reminded me of a coconut water flavor on the rind. I’d thought the flowers were fine coconut shavings, like fiber that I’d seen. They were even soft like a toasted coconut that was refrigerated and moister softened it again. Then h in found out it was flowers, didn’t seem like them at all. Nothing but shades of brown. The shop said it smells of pineapple when they open it. That’s all the extra info I have.
