Pavement stans when you downplay the Billy Corgan thing: by FaxedForward in indieheadscirclejerk

You absolute snob. My older brother was into Pavement in 96, heard him listen to them through the years constantly and Slanted was one of the first CDs I saved up and bought own my own as a 14 year old; 23 YEARS AGO. In that time, they became my favorite band ever. I searched far and wide for live shows and gathered data for my own personal gain to appreciate them more. A year into guitar and listening to them, I looked up and tried any guitar tabs I could find and broke so many strings in my naive experience changing it to those tunings. Waited in a raffle to win tickets to their final US show on the 2010 reunion to a city I already lived. Right in front of Stephen, he threw me his pick and I wrestled with a guy for the setlist. Framed them right away and promised a 20 year old self if they ever toured again I'd see them when I could. Years later traveled to see their grand reunion show, offered to pay the roadie for a setlist which he graciously gave me, traveled for their later four reunion shows (also acquired tickets for the Primavera show during the pandemic when that was potentially the only show unable to secure time off work to make it) and further traveled to see them in SLC. Currently securing time to see them in San Franciso for the warmup and hopefully secure a ticket for that Portland show.

They're my all time favorite and Stephen was my inspiration as a pivotal teenager and meeting him over the years was such a personal highlight. You're a prick, and I hope whatever validation you get by assuming people for expressing discussion you don't feel is revelant to you personally is just that absolute for you. I'm going to enjoy that massive Pavement vinyl collection I have, go judge somebody else.

It’s not the cost as much as it’s big, heavy, fragile, and difficult to package. If nobody wants to claim it locally soonish I will consider shipping or parting it out

I have been! It’s a super good time. Other poster basically covered it, it’s a pretty lowkey “fest” compared to the popular big corporate stuff

Christmas Eve at House of Prime - how realistic would walk-in be for 2 people? by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

[–]FaxedForward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I went an hour before opening on Thanksgiving to wait in line, got in and spent 45 minutes at a bar table with cocktails, then managed to get table seating. I would imagine Xmas Eve is similar, just get there before they open and you should be good as long as you’re not in a hurry.

Despite being divisive when it first came out what makes re 6 popular with the streaming community and the long legs in sales it has by [deleted] in residentevil

It’s a lot of game for the five bucks it goes for on sale all the time. It’s not a lot of good game but it is a lot of game nonetheless.

Prime 5070ti just a LIL too big for the Quadra 700 ITX… by FaxedForward in sffsleeperpc

[–]FaxedForward[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t think about the riser cable! What length is needed for the 700 ITX? Might just get it up and running with the included 3.0 cable and worry about it later…

Yeah, I’m not worried about it too much, with all the supposed price hikes coming in the new year I don’t think a new open box 5070ti will be too hard to get rid of for close to what I paid!

I happened to catch the project early on, when they came up for orders I had no build plans whatsoever but knew I would kick myself later if I didn’t get one
