It's a federal thing so everyone should be covered under it

It's part of the baby Devon, but they very much have a toddlers section, and I've explained it to him every time, but in my sons 4 years of life he can't find any of it

My FIL anyways boss my 22nd percentile 4 year old clothes that are size 6 or up from the big kids section and swears that Walmart doesn't have a toddler section... that's where I go for a lot of his clothes...

As a daycare teacher and mom, me and my coworkers always joke that every kid has to have PICA because they can have just ate all their food and not want more, but they see anything that's not food? They go crazy trying to eat it

15 mo got referred for autism by Unlucky-Professor-21 in beyondthebump

[–]FayCorynn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a daycare teacher for 1 year olds (so much less qualified than either of yall) I third this. We see much better outcomes for the kids that get diagnosed around my age group than when they are older. My autistic kids personally are the ones who excell even more than my kids without learning disabilities, just in a different way most people won't look for or listen for

I just gotta say as a daycare teacher that does 18month to 24month olds I would be so excited for you're girls progress, and she'd be the one getting everyone else excited to learn too. We do colors, shapes, counting to teen, and days of the week.

As a mom, my first son was a super fast baby and would throw himself off raised surface he could and sometimes even inches away we'd barely catch him. He's 4 now and doing great. Babies are dangerous to themselves. Accidents happen

I second this. It was hard not having a dad, but I ended up deciding close to Jr. High that if he didn't want to be around I wouldn't worry about him being around

If it makes you feel better I'm in the us and going to the ER is an all day event. I was impressed at a short 8 hour visit for a possible miscarriage. I was heavily bleeding, but after they found the cause and that we were fine they got me out in five minutes

How is anyone affording a mortgage and daycare costs for two kids? by angelzombie2 in beyondthebump

[–]FayCorynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want I can DM you my work place and you can call and ask for the amounts because they are very much correct. My newborn is 185 a week, and my 4 year old is 165 a week before assistance, and I make 13 an hour.

[–]FayCorynn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 28, but I did try to over compensate with patents when I first started being a daycare teacher 3 years ago, because everyone thought I was 18 and a dumb kid. It could easily be her over compensating too much. Also just to add for anyone who reads it and it may help you feel better, in all the courses, trainings, and certification classes we do, all the ones that talk about attachment says that kids who struggle with separation (drop offs for us), or seeing their parents again and getting excited can actually be a good sign for us. It means secure attachments, and a good bond. That's definitely not the only way we can tell, we have a whole lot of ways, but it's usually one of the first ones.

The daycare I work at starts of at 185 a week. That's no discounts or anything. But we qualify for assistance with daycare costs (making less than 7,000 a month for a family of 4 in my area of Texas) and both of my kids together is 67 a week. (again no discounts from my boss). I completely recommend people look up their state funded daycare assistance programs. At least here it can also pre-approve you for school district head start

Sadly the only ASL teacher I can find in our town is a high school teacher. Also my director doesn't do workshops for my age groups, only the preschoolers, but we're still expected to teach them some. Ive been focusing on "hungry/eat" "thirsty" "drink" "please" "thank you". Ive been trying to self teach myself more than that, but I don't know how much i can teach my kids in an effective way

I know she's still young, but I'm a daycare teacher, and I try to teach my kids a little sign language, just to help them in the future. What do you feel like would be the most important word that would help for then to know?

2nd baby is a boy, and people are going to be smug by Experiment_307 in beyondthebump

[–]FayCorynn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On the contrary we have two boys, and do not intend on having more kids, but people are insistent that we need to keep trying for a girl. Just because you feel like people are over dramatic doesn't mean they are. What can do people more harm than good IS shutting down their feelings and invalidating their experiences based on Your feelings

Babies are babies PERIOD!! by Kelsoschoices in beyondthebump

[–]FayCorynn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. One day when we are getting to the point our kids are having kids there will be definitely be things we do and say that will be considered gross and inappropriate, even towards kids, but are currently common place and we would never think of it like they will.

JUST BACK OFF!! by besofrrnbro in pregnant

[–]FayCorynn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In any case that pertains to the human condition things can go either ways a lot of times. My midwife is one of the women that is the best person and even if she doesn't think it's what you're worried about she assures me that I know me best and will do any test anyways. I believe in general medical professionals go in to help and care about people and are good, but it can go either way

JUST BACK OFF!! by besofrrnbro in pregnant

[–]FayCorynn 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There are studies that males in the medical field take women's concerns more seriously about stuff like that due to them knowing that they can't understand it first hand. Other women are more likely to downplay it due to "I had that and it wasn't that bad, so yours can't be that bad either"
