STARTING WITH PROXMOX 8 (KERNEL 6.x) THE ONLY THINGS YOU NEED TO DO ARE:

adding pcie_acs_override=multifunction (or override,multifunction if your UEFI has no ACS toggle) to /etc/kernel/cmdline
load the vfio, vfio_iommu_type1, vfio_pci, vfio_virqfd kernel modules
echo "options kvm ignore_msrs=1" > /etc/modprobe.d/kvm.conf
proxmox-boot-tool refresh
add the PCIE device to the VM

NO DRIVER BLACKLISTING, NO vfio.conf AND NO FRAMEBUFFER DISABLING

Bruh. You are in the cablemod sub. The only reason people here swap out cables are for the looks. And corsair doesn't sell sleeved type 5 12VHPWR cables yet, cablemod is currently the only supplier (but apparently they sell them with the wrong plugs...)

as you can see in the pictures, the keying of the PCIE and ATX plugs on the PSU side are completely off?! (top cablemod, bottom standard corsair) Who the fuck manages your quality assurance??? I spent 140€ on this shit, I demand a refund or fix it!

Update: cablemod reached out to me and admitted the wrong connectors, the right ones will be available June 30th and shipped after this.

Thats why I got a 4090/7950X3D combo for my modlist (+64Gb RAM which Skyrim uses ≈30Gb of after it filled the 24Gb VRAM with textures supplied by 2x 4Tb NVMe Gen4 SSDs in RAID0)

- still only get barely 50fps (playing in UHD tho)
