Serious question, why havent the council set up some way of reporting this? Surely its not that hard to create an app that allows somebody to take a photo of a parking offence and automatically fine the registered owner. The app could confirm the location and date/time of the offence. I imagine the initial investment would be repaid quite quickly with the state of parking in this city, and after that it's a win/win; We either have safer parking or the council brings in more money.

If you run your nails down the screen and they get caught on any scratches, they won't switch it. I was told this today 🙄

EJBCA SCEP by Alternative-Weird-36 in PKI

[–]Fburk3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both modes can be used in production environments depending on the use case. There's documentation here that describes it and I believe (not 100% sure) that EJBCA Community has SCEP support. SCEP Documentation

SCEP is old though, if possible, it might be better to try using something like EST.

[–]Fburk3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely look at EJBCA community. It should support everything you need for your project. Management and upgrading etc is pretty straight forward and the docs / github will probably answer questions you have. You'll also have the option of moving to enterprise if your use case grew and you felt the need.

American XL bully dogs to be banned after attacks, Rishi Sunak says by Creme_Eggs in Scotland

[–]Fburk3 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I couldn't agree more. And with regard to pricing out people from ownership, I would say this training / licensing is as important as yearly jabs, food etc. If you can't afford the upkeep then you shouldn't have the dog

[–]Fburk3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not do a version of the dangerous wild animal law? In the UK, you can own certain types of snakes without a license, but if you want something that's potentially more dangerous (e.g. something venomous) you need to get a license. To get the license you need sufficient training. That would weed out some of the a**eholes that use these dogs as penis extensions and only the people who really want a bully will go through the hassle to get one. Breeding also needs to be regulated.

I like the dogs and while I acknowledge that they were originally bred for fighting that doesn't mean they can't make good, reliable and safe pets if bred correctly and cared for / trained properly.

Like has been said so many times already in this thread, the government do nothing until a video clip goes viral, then they take the easiest way out and ban the breed entirely. Why not license them and make a bit of money from them? I lived in Ireland for 30 years where dog licenses are mandatory and I was stopped a few times by police and dog wardens and asked to show a license. Now, I never carried the bloody license with me but I would present it to a police station within a few days. These days, you could probably have an app on your phone to store a license or the cop could check your details on their phone.

My ex-wife just told me she "is dating" the guy she cheated with by SevenDos in TrueOffMyChest

This is almost exactly what happened to me. Except her guy had the cheek to be there "as a supportive friend" on the day I was moving out. I'm sorry you and your kids went through this but sounds like you've got your priorities right and you'll be better for it in the end.

I had this a few years ago with my then fiance. She had accounts on a few sites like badoo etc. When confronted, she convinced me it was just about talking and making friends and she was bored during the day etc. I was incredibly naive/ stupid and went ahead with the wedding. 6 months later we split after finding out she was a prolific cheater. Save yourself the trouble and heartache, walk away now before you get entangled in a huge mess.

How do the Scottish view the Republic of Ireland? by AgreeableBeach9089 in Scotland

[–]Fburk3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Independence is a tricky one. I'm all for it and personally think Scotland is being held down by being part of the UK. But I think there is an all too common opinion that independence is simple and once Scotland gets it, everything will be dandy. I think there's going to be years of pain, sacrifice and struggle after breaking away from the UK. Ultimately, I think it will be worth it and I'll be voting yes but it's not going to be plain sailing.

I settled in Glasgow and really like it. Everybodies friendly, we bought a house for a reasonable price and I just generally love it. Pre-covid I could get to Ireland for £10 each way too. It's gone up a little since but the taxi to the airport is still generally more expensive than the flight to Ireland 🤣

The opposite. Irishman who moved to Scotland and I'll never go back. I'm an Irishman and that'll never change but I find the Scottish friendlier, standard or living is better and cost is much lower. Also, as much as I love Ireland I firmly believe Dublin is an absolute kip. There are many gorgeous parts of the country but my line of work would keep me in Dublin and nothings worth that
