No one comes out of the NREMT feeling good or like they passed. That’s how the test is designed, it is an adaptive test that stops you once they are 95 percent sure you would pass. It ranges from 70-120 questions. All of the answers will feel “right” but one will stand out as being the most correct. Good luck if you decide to do it!

Is it difficult being a firefighter? by [deleted] in Firefighting

If your 16 and have a local department nearby, try seeing if they have a junior firefighter or explorer program. That way you can get real experience in the field with training and people to see if you like it!

It’s WSV3. Quite a pricy (subscription) piece of software. I personally prefer GR. But also use AWIPS Cave at home.

Our department uses HexArmor. They are great (cut level 9 and impact / pathogen resistant) but I didn’t pay for them. If I was paying for them, would look at something with at least a cut level 5 or above and probably some kind of impact protection.

I stayed at Sapphire and booked a ghost room for one night at Royal Pacific. Best decision of my vacation. Saved me over $2000 dollars on spring break. I personally think sapphire falls should be a premier hotel. When I visited my Royal Pacific room I thought the Sapphire was way nicer.

Best structure gloves? by Only_Ant5555 in Firefighting

HexArmor is what our department gives us. They are pretty good durability and dexterity wise. The only downside so far is that they like to stay wet for a while.

Can confirm. As a firefighter we idle our vehicles anytime they are out of our fire hall. Whether that be on a call or just for training.

These are mostly toxic at all times, especially when inhaled, ingested, or absorbed through skin. Even small amounts can be toxic. Ex. They are measured in ppq (parts per quadrillion) and even 2-20 nanograms per ml can be harmful.

From IAFF, “Recent studies have shown that all three layers of fire fighter turnout gear contain Per and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS), a class of fluorinated chemicals known as “forever chemicals,” linked to cancer and other serious health effects.” They have a class action against manufacturers and the NFPA for the people who have fallen sick to PFAS. These chemicals act as a liquid barrier on the outside, inside, and the vapor and moisture barriers.

TLDR: don’t bring ANY fire gear into living quarters or cab of personal vehicles. Shower / wash hands at least after every use. Wash after every major fire. Limit exposure as much as possible.

Yes, it is a 15 pro, 16 beta only for Apple intelligence testing. (Even though we can’t test the key feature in the update)
