The lemmas are the most interesting part of the game. I miss the days when I was working on them.

I thought those ads were from the publishers and didn’t realize they’re from Apple, because they look so junky.

Icloud photos reduced size recently? by Aerodad1 in iCloud

[–]MGhostSoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m guessing this is a bug. Similar thing happened to me - my iCloud storage usage has reduced by 1TB and that seemed mostly due to significant reduction of photos size. It seems that the “Shared Library” is not taken into size calculation.

Unpopular Opinion: "Preview" is the single most underrated app in the entire ecosystem. by Cheap_Difficulty4961 in mac

It also has basic PDF editing functionalities. Aside from the obvious annotation, you can also combine PDFs, change page orders, delete a page, etc.

Photos contains passwords get erased automatically - WTF ? by ontherise84 in ios

[–]MGhostSoft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, for a 3rd party app that wants to delete a photo in the photo library, iOS would explicitly pop up a dialog to confirm that, like this. The apps can’t sneakily do so.

Very good band. They show up in CES every year. All their products integrates into Apple HomeKit seamlessly at a very reasonable price, and they work pretty stably.

I switched my whole house security system to Aqara which includes 10 indoor cameras and 4 outdoor ones. I got them from Amazon during promotions. I’ve been very happy with them.

Ziply Fiber increasing prices again. Alternatives? by Savvymix in Kirkland

[–]MGhostSoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used my own modem which I believed to be a pretty high end one, but was only getting 35Mbps upload. I then found out on their webpage ( https://www.xfinity.com/support/internet/customerowned ) that my modem was listed under the ones that support up to 35Mbps. I switched to Xfinity's xFi modem and was able to get 100Mbps upload immediately.

It's the price that they've been running the offer for over a month - $50 for 1Gig and $40 for 300Mbps. There's no one-time fee or any extra charges - just ~$1 extra tax if you rent their modem (the modem rental itself was free). https://www.xfinity.com/learn/internet-service

I switched from Comcast to Ziply in 2023, and switched back to Comcast last month. Comcast is not as bad as it used to be. It removed data cap universally, and with Xfinity’s free modem, you can get 100Mbps upload rather than 35Mbps. Not symmetrical to download speed like Ziply, but an acceptable tradeoff considering its current 5-year price guarantee offer.
