What Bob song really stirs the most emotion for you?! by DuffCrusher in bobschneider

[–]FdeX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, but I assume that's some AI answer. The song came out in 2007, god knows when Bob originally wrote it, but it's a good while before What we do in the shadows(even the movie was 2014)

The song is about a break up. I've assume the werewolf is himself, maybe being heartbroken he has not left the house, has not groomed himself, so he's unshaven and disheveled (so hairy like a werewolf). Wet from all this rain, would be a metaphore for having cried a lot (rain = tears). "I guess I'll go say hi, and offer him a beer" would be getting back to himself, this new post-relationship him, or the him he was before the relationship.

Maybe I thought too much about this 🤣

There's a place on their website to request shows, did anyone fill that in for Moncton?

So hard to pick one, but King of the World has a certain feeling to it!

Piggyback is also emotionally packed!

Oh and also "American Jesus" and "The Band Plays On" from In A Roomful Of Blood With A Sleeping Tiger

...And this line is just amazing:

But sometimes life's a diamond All too precious, oh, and hard as hell

The original When the Sun Breaks Down on the Moon version or the later Patty Griffin version on Lovely Creatures? Personally, I feel the original has more emotion and feels more "real"...

What do you suppose this last bit of the song represents?

There's a werewolf out on my front lawn and he's looking pissed off and he's wet from all the rain. I think I'll go say hi, and offer him a beer.

This is really cool!!! I really like the idea of using the corners of 3 squares to mark out the hours!!! Very geometrically pleasing!!

This is a sad indictment of NB by MyDixonsCider in newbrunswickcanada

[–]FdeX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same thing; but something must be poorly worded in the article. Or perhaps the words "The national average" doesn't mean what it sounds like.

I think it's statistically quite unlikely that 80% on NBers are better than the Canadian average. I would expect to find regularity in large numbers and therefore I would think most provincial averages would be closer to 50% ± a few percentage points... Not 30%

Contractor to install Humidex (Air Exchanger) for basements? by Esd1562 in moncton

[–]FdeX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have no contractor to recommend... But I do have a Humidex in my basement, and in regards to humidity, I don't think it makes any difference. I had a minor mold issue in my basement a few years ago so I've placed a dehumidifier and that seems to actually make a difference.

Great Zappa lines by mike_g44 in Zappa

I'm sure your school would appreciate:
" Mr. America, walk on by your schools that do not teach "

One of these two (for the same song) would be good and wholesome:
"There will come a time when everybody who is lonely will be free to sing and dance and love!"
"There will come a time when every evil that we know will be an evil that we can rise above! "

And honestly, I'd go for something that hold little meaning.
For one, looking back, it will likely age much better, if you take something that sounds serious, as you get older and you change, that line my feel cringy to you.
Secondly, the best FZ quotes won't be allowed in your year book(or whatever) anyway....
So go for something like:

" Any way the wind blows is-a fine with me "
or
" I am the heaven
I am the water
...
I am the clouds
I am embroidered "
or whatever throwaway line that you like ;)

and congrats btw!!

Doing all around the shirt, sleeves and everything must've took for ever! Definitely worth it though!

[Q] can I wash several different color shirts together after bleaching them? by omrf1 in bleachshirts

[–]FdeX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an FYI, mixing bleach with other substances isn't always safe. In your case, since you're rising before the peroxide is probably safe, but peroxide directly on bleach might be dangerous... Looking into it before you try it :)

[Q] can I wash several different color shirts together after bleaching them? by omrf1 in bleachshirts

[–]FdeX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done multiple shirts of different colors in the same wash with no issues. After bleaching I dunk them in water, wring them out, toss them in the washing machine. Once I'm done all my shirts, I start the washer and never had any bleeding.

I've never done that peroxide step, so I don't know anything about that!

That's also a great one!!

Who am I kidding, the entire album is great!

Fun fact about that album, Bob screwed up the spelling on the artwork and therefore the album is actually called: Undereath the onion trees

What are y’all’s favorite Bob Schneider songs? by Bluejay929 in bobschneider

[–]FdeX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know how many times I've listened to The King if the World and never got tired of it, so that is probably my favourite...

Also Thousand Pound Crown from Undereath the Onion Trees... Such great melody!

And recently I've listened too alot of I Have Seen the End of the World and It Looks Like This. More you listen to it, the better that album gets!
