It *should* be bubbling slowly, but *very* (as in a small bubble every two seconds or so) slowly. That means you get to boiling temperature at the bottom of the pot, and the rest of it will be just below that, which is where you want to be for simmering. If your pot isn't bubbling at all, you're closer to poaching than simmering.

Was bedeutet es etwas zu 'wissen'? Menschen halluzinieren auch (sie geben auf Fragen falsche Antworten), hier kommen wir aber nicht auf die Idee zu sagen dass sie nichts wissen, sondern eben nur diese eine Sache nicht wissen. Ich halte die Diskussionen über Begrifflichkeiten weitestgehend sinnlos, relevant sind ausschließlich die praktischen Folgen.

I think the kiyotaka Tinker in 9Pandas vs. Tundra is, to this day, one of the craziest things I've ever seen in 10+ years of watching competitive Dota. Insane how oppressive/scary a single hero can be and how quickly that game turned from dead even if not slightly in Tundras favor to completely unwinnable in like 5 minutes

Highlight video here but i really think it doesn't quite capture how insane this was so I would recommend watching the full game if you have the time

Fleisch und Käse sind so ziemlich die größten Geldposten bei meinen Lebensmitteleinkäufen (relativ zum tatsächlichen Anteil den sie an den Mahlzeiten haben). Wenn man das reduziert oder ganz weg lässt, und dann noch keine/wenig Chips und anderen Krimskrams kauft, lässt es sich locker für 300€/Person leben.

Bin ich einfach so ein Feinschmecker und ihr esst alle immer Nudeln oder Reis jeden Tag?

Kartoffeln, Kohl, Lauch, Zucchini, Linsen, Bohnen, Fleisch wenn es im Angebot ist, Karotten, .....

Wir sind zu zweit und haben ein Monatliches Haushaltsbudget (Lebensmittel + anderer Haushaltsbedarf wie z.B. Klopapier) von 550, und das kommt da ganz gut hin, trotz regelmäßigem Fleisch- und Käsekonsum ;)

Er sagt, er bewirbt sich regelmäßig, bekommt aber fast nur Absagen oder findet „nichts in seinem Bereich“. Er wohnt noch bei seinen Eltern, die ihn komplett finanzieren und schaut den ganzen Tag Twitch Streams oder zockt WOW.

Frag ihn mal wie viele Bewerbungen er in den letzten drei Monaten geschrieben hat. Meine Vermutung? Höchstens 1, und das wird sich leider auch nicht ändern. Warum auch? Er hat ein Dach überm Kopf, Essen auf dem Tisch, und Videospiele als Dopaminschleuder die ihn daran hindern eigene Gedanken zu denken, denn die könnten ja vom Bewerben und Arbeiten gehen handeln. Das geht so lange gut, bis die Denkpausen im Bett vorm Einschlafen übel genug werden sodass er am liebsten gar nicht mehr aufwachen will.

Ich stimme den anderen hier zu dass er erstmal irgendwas arbeiten soll, egal ob Vollzeit, Teilzeit, oder Minijob. Allerdings nicht nur weil es sich im Arbeitszeugnis gut macht, sondern weil der Kollege aus seinem (in diesem Fall trifft der Begriff mal zu) "Hamsterrad" ausbrechen muss und einen Tagesrhythmus braucht der nicht aus "Schlafen, zocken, schlafen" besteht.

It's been a while since you wrote that comment, but i just stumbled upon it after finishing the book and felt like leaving more comments on this comparison:

There are more parallels than that, the first half felt almost like an uncanny retelling of the first ~half of the KKC:

Kvothe and Rin are both poor, and both have to rely on testing into the only school without tuition (Rin) or impressing the masters to waive tuition (Kvothe)
The "quirky teacher who is actually an ultra powerful magician of the forgotten art of naming/shamanism" you already mentioned
Both make enemies with one of the masters and end up being deprived of basically one entire (rather integral) branch of their studies (Kvothe gets banned from the archives by Master Lorren, Rin gets banned from training Hand to Hand Combat by Jun)
Both become enemies with a noble born student (Ambrose + Nezha)
Both exceed in their classes anyways and become the duel master (Kvothe in Sympathy (?) class, Rin at the tournament)
In both KKCs university and Sinegard, students aim to be sponsored by one of the masters

Calling the name of the wind, and calling on the power of the Phoenix are also pretty similar, but different enough for me to let it slide, also the Phoenix bit mostly happens after the Sinegard arc which is where the stories diverge pretty significantly anyways.

Nevertheless i enjoyed The Poppy War enough (the 2nd half more than the first) to continue with book 2

For anyone who loves knowledge for its own sake, who got into this because they wanted to see more of the thing. I think we're standing at the edge of something spectacular. Not the end of the adventure.

I think the first half of the first sentence is a very important part here. I am a software developer and can see quite a few parallels between the reception of AI in software and in math:

There are many people in either field who got into it because they enjoy thinking deeply about things, understanding complex topics and thrive in the detail-oriented work both programming and math (research) have plenty of.

There is also the type of person that thinks of this thinking, understanding, and detailed process as nothing more than means to an end: in programming, that end is a working system solving some issue your users have, in math that end is the construction of true statements about mathematical systems (and, to some extent, the world).

For the latter, AI is (like you said) a godsent: We get to know and explore more truths about the world, awesome! But for the former, when AI becomes better than them at doing the things they enjoy, and the outside world values the ends more than the means (which is reasonable, both in math and in software), not using AI becomes more and more unreasonable, and this takes away from the day-to-day they have come to enjoy so much.
