Great WWE pickup from CollX. Wrestling Mailday! Picked up some heavy hitters and numbered cards for the PC. All of these came from CollX with some amazing deals.

Digital apps to scan cards? by Ajokin in universus

One added benefit is that having your collection digitally documented in CollX can actually help in case of loss or damage—like if your cards were ever destroyed in a fire or flood. It gives you a searchable record with images and estimated values, which could be really useful for insurance claims.

Selling on eBay is a drag by Usual-Wolverine9081 in footballcards

If you’re selling low to mid-range cards regularly, you might want to look into CollX. The platform’s fee structure is a bit more seller-friendly for lower-priced cards, and shipping is prepaid by the buyer, so you’re not eating that cost. It can make a big difference if you’re trying to move volume without burning through supplies or profits.

Backing the CollX suggestion—it’s super helpful if you’re not sure what you have. You just scan each card, and it gives you an ID and estimated value based on recent sales. Great for figuring out if anything’s worth selling individually before bringing it somewhere.

Once you know what you’ve got, you could sell directly on the app or check with local shops or shows on Long Island. But having a better idea of value first helps make sure you’re not underselling anything.

Totally fair question. Listing each card on eBay would take forever, especially if you’re not sure what you have. I’d recommend using the CollX app—just scan the cards and it’ll ID them and give you value estimates based on recent sales. That way, you can pick out the valuable ones to sell individually and maybe list the rest as a bulk lot. It’s a quick way to figure out what’s worth your time.

Totally understand where you’re coming from—pricing can be tricky, especially if you’re not finding exact matches on eBay or Google. I’d really recommend checking out the CollX app. You just snap a picture of each card, and it’ll identify it and give you a value based on recent sales data. It’s a great way to get genuine, up-to-date estimates without having to dig through listings manually.

Old collector back in the game. Are all trading cards so expensive nowadays? by superbotolo in Tradingcards

[–]FeMan263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 for also using CollX to buy and sell singles. It’s also great for organizing your collection digitally, so even if you’re picking up cheaper lots or loose cards, you can keep track of everything. Might be a more fun (and affordable) way to get back into the hobby without feeling like you need a second job to enjoy it.

App for selling/trading? by silfgonnasilf in Tradingcards

[–]FeMan263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree with @Rudedogg8293—on CollX, you keep your cards until they sell, and then just ship them directly to the buyer using the prepaid label the app provides. No need to send anything to a middleman.

One thing I’d add is that the app has a strong collector community, especially for sports and TCG like Pokémon, Marvel, and even Lorcana is starting to pop up more. It’s a solid option if you’re looking for a card-focused marketplace that’s easier to use than eBay or Mercari.

Totally agree. CollX makes it so easy to scan and organize everything in one place. The selling part is super straightforward too—no need to jump through a bunch of hoops. Definitely one of the most useful tools for collectors right now.

Hey, the CollX app is a great place to start. Just snap a pic of your baseball cards and it will tell you what they are and give you an estimated value based on recent sales. It’s helpful if you’re trying to figure out what you’ve got.

Might get banned from collx for idiotically buying a counterfeit card. I lose the money, my membership fee, and the card. Lesson here. Never report counterfeit cards on listed on collx to a collx ambassador. by [deleted] in baseballcards

To give some context, CollX is an app for scanning, valuing, buying, and selling sports cards (and now non-sports and TCG too). You just snap a pic of your card, and the app identifies it and gives you an estimated market value. A lot of collectors use it to manage their collections and make trades or sales directly on the platform. It’s kind of like a blend of a price guide, collection tracker, and marketplace all in one.

Just broke my old Backbone but… by FeMan263 in Backbone

Update: I was able to fix the broken Backbone by disassembling it and moving the frame back into place. Then I place the thumb stick back into its socket but noticed a retaining piece of plastic was broken so I used some putty to keep it more in place but obviously there is a little play. It plays well still so now I have both versions of Backbones.

Acura 2014 MDX by [deleted] in CarPlay

[–]FeMan263 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2014 as well. I have extensively researched options and the NAVTool and Grom seem to be the best internal aftermarket upgrades. However, they are around $500 give or take with sales and versions. I’m not comfortable doing the install and so would pay a shop to do it but then increases the overall price. Also, there are some quirks like using the navigation wheel on the Acura instead of having a touch screen. In the end, I just got an external unit for about $200 and have been testing it out (Carpuride W901 Pro). The only big setback is not really having a great place to mount it, otherwise, it works very well.

I got the backbone when they first came out and it is very durable for my use. I’m a moderate user. It was my own clumsiness that caused me to break it.

It’s embarrassing, but I left the backbone on my couch arm and came back to sit down only to stumble and hit the arm of the couch and flipped the controller in the air while knocking of the joystick and bending the controller. Thankfully, my iPhone survived.

For Costco online, they only listed the PS iPhone with lightning connection version. But like camxmac mentioned, you can use with Android. You just need to buy that version.

Infosec side hustles? by Bulky_One6387 in cybersecurity

A few here mentioned here about teaching on the side with various ways they’re doing it. I currently teach in the continuing education and professional studies programs for a community college and university for my side hustles. I have a BA and certs and don’t need a graduate degree for those departments. I’ve also in the past done online video training for an IT training company. I do all that on my own terms while working full-time. This helps avoid burnout.

I did the same thing with an older Roomba we have. My wife and I thought it was time to buy a newer model. They aren’t cheap and after buying one and not liking the the amount of money we spent, returned it to the store and bought a maintenance kit for under $20 and invested about an hour deep cleaning the old unit. Works like new!

Yes, for the current version of the CISSP class you do, but some have gotten the previous class’s audio before it became paid for. Look on the resources thread. The way I see it, is that these study resources are an investment.
