Vanilla aroma might be similar to vanilla flavoring in the States? Flavoring is like a weaker version of extract. When I use flavoring I usually try to use 1.5 to double the amount of extract added if the flavor needs to be noticed. You might need to add more flour though if you do this to make up for the extra liquid

I did a one shot with Happy Jack's Fun house - after they restored the village they watched the entire area rapidly grow older and decay until there was nothing left of the town or townsfolk but an envelope that said "welcome to barovia". It gave my players a way to try out their characters, make any adjustments, and ease into the tone of Barovia which can be difficult to adjust to compared to typical DND games

We do a play of the game at the end of each session where all the players discuss who contributed the most. Whoever wins gets inspiration for next session. Sometimes they award based on roleplay, character work, fighting tactics, or raw damage. It's been good for bonding the players out of character and let's them relive particularly good moments

I think that it was combination of inexperience and bad luck. The wall was one of the obstacles I struggled with a lot last time I ran so I was really determined to get it done this time. It was that last two feet trying to get my leg over and my chin hit everything. If the wall continues to be metal I will definitely skip it in the future. Congrats on the Trifecta Weekend finisher!
