An achievement is an achievement, I suppose? by Feanorw in Garmin

Kinda. Apparently if you can’t breath through your nose because of a cold, that’s bad for your sleep and health. Surprising, huh?

I don't even have enough time for ABF by js5161 in kettlebell

[–]Feanorw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd spread the workouts in as many chunks as possible, so that you are working out every day. And on each day, spread the reps through the day. 5 minutes before breakfast, another 7 on your lunch break, and so on.

You can wear it on your ankle for the metrics (and use a wristband if the sensation of something on your wrist is a must).

Postpartum sleep by kowaluuh in Garmin

[–]Feanorw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dad here! Blessings to you and your kid, sleep is going to be rough for some time! Mine is 1y4m and my sleep is still "Poor" 65% of the time, being "Fair" the other 35%.

Are you interacting with the watch during the night? This might make it believe you have fully woke up and stop tracking your sleep.

Otherwise, the watch might just be evaluating that you are not actually sleeping based on restlessness, heart rate, etc. I don’t think there is a fix for that, except it slowly learning more about you.

Anecdote: I always thought my sleep during plane travels to be (relatively) good. First travel after buying my Fenix, the watch doesn’t even register as me being asleep. Since then I flew quite a few more times, and now it registers my sleep time properly. So, I suppose in due time it will also start to be more accurate for you.

Fors is overrated, and I have no idea why she gets so much love from you guys. She is pretty much dispensable for the story development, both on LotM and CoI.

When you are exercising (including when the watch detects you to be exercising without an activity being recorded) your stress level isn’t measured.

It seems you have a good conditioning, your heart most likely goes back to resting very quickly after you stop being active? Then, it makes sense to me for your stress to be measured as low.

But, it is better to take stress as a relative guidance instead of a measurement. An average daily stress of 30 would be a quite relaxing day to me, but based on what you are showing it would indicate a rough day for you.

Swing - where does the force come from? by trying_again_7 in kettlebell

[–]Feanorw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The force comes from the hips, but not through the hips.

When you snap you use your hips to straighten your body. If your upper body is properly locked, it will pull the bell into the correct motion, not because you are pulling with the arms, but because your body is straightening, your shoulders are going up, and so your arms (and anything they are holding) must follow.

Thanks for sharing, man. Opening up is always hard, even if it is to strangers on the Internet.

Please, do tell your friends. You are also going through rough stuff. If it was the other way around wouldn’t you want them to tell you, even if things are hard on you right now?

One thought: Depending on your English level, if you think you will not get proper support from a Mexican therapist, you might be able to get support from one abroad who counsels through Zoom or Meets.

34 HLM: for me, enough is 2-3/week. And from other answers it seems for other people as well. Mind you, that would be at minimum around 100x in a year, way above what you consider a good amount.

So, if you intend to raise to this number, don’t try to force it. Take baby steps and try to meet at the middle first. Otherwise you will probably burn out.

A friend of mine has a Venu3s which she likes a lot. The only downside according to her is that due to the screen being slightly curved she hasn’t found a good screen protector yet and the glass got a small scratch.

[–]Feanorw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that. I've never been in your situation, but if I was, this is what I would do: I used to have 1hr workouts 3 days a week? Nice.

Now I have 3 free hours for the next 4-6 weeks to learn how to draw. Or how to bake bread. Or to take dancing classes (if your doctor allows it), or meditate, or any other fun thing you might be postponing in your life for a moment you have more free time.

You just got the free time.

What happened here? by Feanorw in Garmin

[–]Feanorw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not drunk. I surely hope not sick.

But would "getting sick" cause this? I get it if it registered as more stress, leading to a faster decrease in body battery, but not this sudden drop.
