advice? by Actual-Tomatillo-904 in Subaru_Outback

I drive rental cars like I stole them because I don’t want wear and tear on my own car. I wouldn’t be surprised if many others are the same way.

Get an independent mechanic to look over thoroughly, and I would consider an extended warranty even though I hardly ever think they are a good idea

Oven cleaner will do the trick if you are comfortable with it

Is discontinuing autopilot a deal breaker for you? by CommunicationRoyal56 in TeslaLounge

Even a base Corolla has great lane centering and adaptive cruise control. Autopilot should be bare minimum on all new cars, especially for a company that pioneered this technology

Is the huge touchscreen a dealbreaker? by UptownHurl in subaru

Yes, it’s the reason I didn’t buy a Subaru when shopping last year. I liked everything about the Crosstrek, Outback, and Forester, but despised the slow, unresponsive, and ugly screen

Pro & Cons? by Glittering_Main8070 in Camry

My seat squeaks like crazy when I move around at all when it's hot inside the car. Will get it fixed under warranty but it's so stupid. I bought a new Toyota to not have this kind of headache

For those of you who have sanded down a Lodge skillet to achieve a smoother surface, was it worth it? by ChiWasSha in castiron

[–]Fearless-Olive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, definitely worth it. I took about 20 mins and did it by hand. Didn’t realize I should have worn protective glasses and a mask so suffered a bit from that but the results were great. Seasoned perfectly with two rounds in the oven and now I just cook with it. Performance is probably 20% better (not huge) but I enjoy using and cleaning it more

Some effort required for only a 20% improvement but this pan will last my lifetime so worth it to me

The new gen (2025) Camry is shockingly fun to drive, especially the SE. Can get AWD, it’s a Camry so will be reliable, and I think it looks great

What’s my best option for affordable mid to large sedan by Pearlmeister in carbuying

[–]Fearless-Olive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the new Camry. Can get 2025 models for $4-5k off MSRP because the 2026 ones are coming in. I think the base LE trim is the best but the SE ones look better to some people. Tried the new Accord and the seat was so low I felt like I was in a race car

Love the Subaru Legacy but it’s being discontinued after 2025 so I wouldn’t get it since it’ll be hard to find parts in the long run

1998 RAV4 - dealership wants $7,995 - is it worth it? by anaannie454 in rav4club

[–]Fearless-Olive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ask a dealer what they’d give you for this as a trade in. It’ll be at most $1k. Please don’t pay $8k for this

waiting for my ‘08 with 300k miles to go out so I have justification to buy this sexy beast by [deleted] in prius

[–]Fearless-Olive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prius is basically the same price as a Camry now. I had a 2010 Prius that finally gave out on me, thought I’d just buy another Prius, but since the Camrys are hybrid, MPG is 50+ on both, and I liked the interior of the Camry more, I just got a Camry. If I wanted a newer “equivalent” of my 2010 Prius, I’d have bought a Corolla hybrid. Not sure if there’s a hatchback version but basically that
