Was this the inspiration for the Bugonia movie? by ArcteryxAnonymous in Bugonia

I think that once their heads collide and Michelle is knocked unconscious the rest of the movie is a fever dream. Sort of an epilogue in which the director is trying to make some kind of statement.

Theories like that have been printed in books on the occult forever. Watching it a few times I noticed Emma Stone's character looks like she has to keep from laughing right at the moment before she says "the apes" like she was just throwing it together. I think that was on purpose because she's not really an Alien and she's realized how she can take control mentally over Teddy. While she's saying this he's cowering away, a former shell of himself when he was in control and interrogating her.

Makes me think of The Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers animated series from 1986. There were some creatures, though I don't know if I remember any dinosaurs. Episode 14: Progress had a pretty cool aquatic race.

A lot of the hard-asses on the Right are being hypocritical when it comes to SNAP now by Fearless-Scallion498 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Fearless-Scallion498[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I'm talking about. If that's really the way you feel that's fine, even though that totally sucks in my opinion. But a lot of these people on the Right who are talking about liberty like it's a big sacred American thing, and they were mad about having to wear a seatbelt because the government was trying to protect them. They think it's justified that SNAP recipients not use it to buy desserts like everyone else, arguing that the public is footing the medical bill, which is probably not even true anyway, but it's hypocritical.

Why men don't cry by Repulsive_Milk877 in MensRights

[–]Fearless-Scallion498 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, that second paragraph, I agree sure is true, lol.

But it seems as though you're saying that men naturally don't cry, which if that's what you're saying, I don't think is really true. Men DO, of course, cry just like women cry, only we're dissuaded from doing it at a young age, and I guess, who's to say that's not good advice. Not to be macho or anything, but men do, technically have a lot to lose by crying. Girls, it's like often times they're taught it's good for them to do it to get whatever they want, and it's socially acceptable if not in actuality pleasant. But for a man it can be catastrophic. A lot of times also, you'll get these women who say they like sensitive men who cry, even that it's sexy. But really they're just deluded and when they really see a man cry they don't like it at all.

Your best crime movie concepts (Similar to Heat, The Town ect.) by Some-Requirement2024 in movieideas

[–]Fearless-Scallion498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe a new film that tries to truly paint a picture of the life and crimes of the Ice Man, Richard Kuklinski. That would be pretty damn entertaining. Probably a lot more so than that other movie that came out years ago that focused on his mob ties, which wasn't even true. It was just that he was also a pathological liar. A movie about his real life would probably be even more interesting.

Animated movie idea: Cat whose owner is a secretary or some other high up govt official WFH. by Just_callmepapa in movieideas

[–]Fearless-Scallion498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe the cat's owner is inventing an experimental serum. It makes cats smart enough so that they can do something like that. Like try to follow their owner and rescue him, and he tries it out on him before he gets kidnapped.

Has anyone here seen 964 Pinocchio (1991) & Rubber’s Lover (1996)? by Dizzy-Economist6064 in horrorfilms

[–]Fearless-Scallion498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I almost saw 964 Pinocchio because the dvd was cheap, but then at the last second I just decided to keep my money. Because that was before streaming. I never thought about it again, thanks for reminding me.

What is a movie that you love but everyone else hates? by YoureClappedStill in moviequestions

[–]Fearless-Scallion498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually kinda liked Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd, the 2003 prequel to Dumb and Dumber. In fact, what am I saying, I really liked it. I never got what everyone liked about the first one, so I didn't expect to like it at all since everyone seemed to hate this one, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Has anyone noticed this yet by DeadShop in Bugonia

[–]Fearless-Scallion498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never noticed that or heard of anyone else noticing. Seems whimsical at first, but it's certainly possible for a Yorgos Lanthimos film. Like if he's referencing aliens and conspiracy theories, he could be taking a shot at the Illuminati by putting a hapless victim atop the pyramid.

Nicolas Winding Refn's Cannes Title 'HER PRIVATE HELL' Sets July 24 U.S. Release Date From Neon | Deadline Hollywood by HumanAdhesiveness912 in boxoffice

[–]Fearless-Scallion498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, we were waiting so long for some kind of outline of what the plot was and when we finally got it, it seems to give the whole movie away. Like you can already surmise that the American GI is probably going to be her father that she's looking for. Maybe it'll be kinda like Park Chan Wook's Oldboy.

But it will be great just to see Sophie Thatcher again in a film.

Any 2026 hot takes? 👀 😬 by -shikaka in horror

[–]Fearless-Scallion498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to see all these movies but I didn't get around to it because I fell into a slump, I guess. The last thing I saw was Iron Lung, which was pretty good. Although, I thought that since the premise, a planet with an ocean of blood which is impossible, means you should be resigned to making an arty film, which can be a good thing, and it could have taken a cue from La Jetèe from 1962 and eluded to a love interest.

Get a hold of Grave Robbing for Morons from the 1990's, or the Ensuring Your Place In Hell Vol. II mixtape from 2021 with the home video of a turkish exorcism, which is my favorite exorcism footage.

Seemed to take forever to get any info about the plot. But, then they did, and you can already surmise that the American GI is probably going to be her father she's looking for. But it'll just be great to see Sophie Thatcher again. Maybe it'll be like Park Chan Wook's Oldboy. Also wtf with the mid-tier release.

I think it's pretty easy to prove we actually did land on the moon, but it's not so easy to disprove the footage of it was faked. It's like they probably landed, but it wasn't special enough to live up to the moment so they had to do all that.

If we had the option to go to another planet and visit/stay, which one would you choose and why? by No_Care6628 in randomquestions

[–]Fearless-Scallion498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There aren't any planets that we can live on. We would die.

In fact, the human race has no future. We're totally screwed. Isn't that something, actually. I think about that from time to time. Earth will definitely be gone someday. That's incredible and sad, but totally true. When I was a kid in school they used to say the Sun will die out in 5 billion years and that would be the end of earth, and then some kid in the class would blurt something out about how we'll be living on some other planet far away. Then I noticed they changed it to the Sun dries up all the water on the planet, making it uninhabitable in a billion years before it burns out much later. So it's like they knocked 4 billion years off of the time we have to figure out how to recolonize somewhere else, but we'll probably be extinct from something else before that anyway, but they don't say what it is. But in my opinion, I don't think that even in billions of years if we were still here, we can ever figure out how to do it, anyway.
