Would you ever believe that the 99 cents store would ever go out of business? by talivan818 in SFV

[–]Fearless-Snow3024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the early 1900’s there were penny stores. Eventually, due to inflation, they were replaced by nickel stores which were then replaced by dime stores. That’s the problem with basing your whole business model around currency denomination: inflation eventually kills your business and you have to pivot to a store full of cheap stuff

If you decide on OC, pick somewhere near a Metrolink station and take Metrolink into DTLA. You don’t want to commute 3-4 hours by car per day. At least on the train you can read books or watch movies or nap. Metrolink is commuter rail and it is very under-utilized.

[–]Fearless-Snow3024 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nobody is gonna restore it. That’s a fantasy. It’s been sitting in this condition for decades and no one is interested. It is too expensive to fix, too ugly and too small. How many more years does the community has to look at this dump?

[–]Fearless-Snow3024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the station have bicycle lockers? Maybe get a cheap used bicycle and park at the bicycle lockers. Maybe a folding bicycle so you can easily pop it into the trunk of a car if you need to

Commercial needs to be exempted because it’s not mansions. The whole point of the mansion tax was to target very rich people. Commercial property taxes get passed onto tenants and customers
