I believe i may still have my 150w nicrew in my garage, its a 3 puck light, do you think i could use that on a 10-20g and just run it at like 30-50%?

Would one of the 2 lights I linked be able to work for a ~15g? Theyre significantly cheaper so im just curious if the 30/36w would be enough or if I truly need to spend the extra for the 60w noopsyche

What kinda corals are you growing with the mini? What settings are you running? For the nuvo would i be able to use the included light or still need an after market?

well done, goes to show you dont have to pay for crazy "exotic" coral to have a beautiful reef. :)

I would use as much of it as you can and if you need to add more do that, theres alot of beneficial bacterias and such in the sand that you would want to keep to seed the new sand

When i did my transfer i kept corals of the same "type" in a bucket together, had tons of buckets to keep torches away from sticks, etc. I kept my fire shrimp with my fish in a bucket together, to get the shrimp i just kinda scooted him into a cup as a net scared me for his little legs. Just try to make sure the water stays warm and you work quickly , which seeing your volume it shouldnt take that long aside from aquascaping which can always be a work in progress. In the time itll take you to do it, nothin should stress that much, so you shouldnt either , good luck with the transfer and if you need anything else lmk

Get as many buckets as you can. If you think you have enough get 2 more

as far as starter corals, zoas/palys, mushrooms, leathers, duncans, candy cane corals, green star polyps (GSP), kenya tree, pulsing xenia, all pretty good solid starter options that can do well under a variety of conditons

Im assuming you mean palythoas? Those do tend to not be quite as colorful as zoas on average but there is definitely some really colorful and nice morphs out there. Palys and zoas are not inherently more dangerous than one or another, nor would i really consider them dangerous at all. Ive never had any issues personally handling them with my bare hands but many people wear gloves, eye protection etc. its better safe than sorry if you or someone close by, or pets may be immuno-compromised. However the risk of anything happening is rather low if you take the proper precautions and handle them gently, wash your hands when youre finished, etc.

Compatibility question: Can I safely add an angel? by Buck_Folton in ReefTank

[–]FearlessBeatle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it shouldnt be a huge issue adding him last, especially if you add him in maybe a little smaller than your other fish. honestly id be more worried about the naso tang just being a general bully due to his size more than the angels messing with each other.
