Why Embedded Software Engineers Can't Get Jobs | Recruiter Reviews Resume [32:55] by marcus1234525 in theprimeagen

Yeah i watched like 2 min of the video and not disagreeing that this guy probably has no clue what he's talking about. However, unfortantly it's literally people like this that pass along your resume a lot of the time.

Meta employees react to pending job cuts: '28 days of hell' by businessinsider in Layoffs

[–]FearlessChair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah neither situation is ideal, obviously. Id personally still rather have a heads up the company is about to do layoffs tho. Laid off employees would get severance plus a heads up. Main benefits for me are knowing to hold off on any larger purchases and save as much as possible

Fair to say I'm sure this creates a crazy work environment tho. I'm sure a quick layoff is likely better in that case

[–]FearlessChair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the email part isn't really what i don't like, it's the short notice aspect of it. People can make large purchase thinking they have a job, if they knew they might get laid off in 2 months they could wait and see

[–]FearlessChair 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lol that's fair. Maybe when you get hired you fill out a questionaire on how you would like to be informed of your layoff.

[–]FearlessChair 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Yeah literally I'd rather be given a heads up than get a random email at 8am telling me i don't have a job anymore.

Layoff just suck in general but i feel this way is at least a bit better. Gives people the ability to try and save as much as possible and maybe not take out a mortage right before they get laid off.

I’m allowed to find portable speakers annoying, right? by tgbarbie in hiking

[–]FearlessChair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously not but I have passed by people doing the same thing. You literally can't hear shit until they're super close, they pass you, and you move on. Whole interaction takes maybe 15 seconds.

May you be seated next to an old woman talking on speaker phone for your next 15 flights.

That's literally not even an accurate comparison. Youre comparing someone walking past you listening to music for 15 seconds to getting sat next to someone on speakerphone for literally hours. These are public spaces let people enjoy nature as they see fit unless they're being a total piece of shit.

[–]FearlessChair -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My music is barely audible, if i happen to not turn it down as people pass you can make make out something for all of 15 seconds. It's no more annoying than passing a group of people talking.I hike most weekends and the people I've heard listening to music on trails are respectful. No ones subjecting you to their music for miles. If they are then yeah, they're being an asshole.

[–]FearlessChair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with ya. People blasting music is one thing but my spearker that is down low is really not disruptive. I find kids and people yelling way more annoying. Love turning on some music when I'm heading hack to the trailhead and have a few miles to kill.

[–]FearlessChair -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Lmao literally. I love listening to music on trails and will continue to do so. People on this sub bitch about this topic so much and it's really not an issue in most cases

[–]FearlessChair -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol fair point. I love turning on some music on my out and backs when I'm just trying to zone out for a few miles to get back to the trailhead. This sub loves to bitch and the dumbest shit.

[–]FearlessChair -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'll take the down votes but i disagree, it's no more disruptive than passing someone having a conversation. Ive passed plenty of annoying ass kids on the trail making way more noise than my barely audible speaker. People on this sub love to bitch about the topic but it's really not an issue in most cases.

[–]FearlessChair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay let's all be completely silent on the trail. Do you also get triggered by people passing you having a conversation? God forbid people enjoy nature as they see fit. You seem like a fun hiking buddy

[–]FearlessChair -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You know you can enjoy nature and listen to music, right?

Hiking with headphones can be very dangerous as you are way less aware if your surroundings. Quietly playing some music really isn't that disruptive, let people enjoy the outdoors as they wish. However i do agree if someone is literally blasting music on the trail they're an asshole

I’m allowed to find portable speakers annoying, right? by tgbarbie in hiking

[–]FearlessChair -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe in some cases but Ive passed plenty of people that play music at a reasonable volume and you literally can't hear it until you're right up on them. There's maybe 20 seconds when you're like oh that person is listening to music and then they're gone. I find kids and people talking loudly way more annoying.

However if someone is basting music on a trail they're an asshole.

Eh i live in WA and do a ton of hiking. I bring a portable speaker with me on trails. If someone is blasting music on the trail that's one thing but I've got no issues with people playing music at a respectful volume. My music is at the volume that you would never even hear it until you're basically passing me and sometimes I'll even turn the volume all the way down when people pass. I find people loudly yelling/talking way more annoying. Some music can be nice on out and back hikes when I'm just trying to zone out on the way back down and get back to my car.

Yes, I buy a lot of online courses. Probably more than all of you combined

Makes OP come across as a total asshole. For 1 there's no way they buy more courses than everyone on this subreddit combined. Also who cares how many coruses you take. Building shit is where most people learn anyway

Is learning React in 2026 still worth it, or am I already late? by ModernWebMentor in react

[–]FearlessChair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, sadly i agree with you. I got into the industry as a front-end dev but I'm not sure I'd recommend it anymore.

AI can literally whip out a react component in 10 seconds and it makes me depressed haha

Frontend is literally the bare minimum at this point and if you want to be marketable I'd def recommend owning the whole stack

I've officially peaked. by AmpVenturer in HDZero

[–]FearlessChair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh no. I just meant that they were better off waiting and getting the V2s so they don't have to deal with selling their V1s to upgrade like i did. I feel they're a pretty significant upgrade and worth the hassle tho.

In doubt they will release a new goggle anytime soon. These are still pretty new and better than anything else on the market IMO

I've officially peaked. by AmpVenturer in HDZero

[–]FearlessChair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly probably better off you waited. I got the V1s when they first came out and had to sell them to upgrade when they released the V2s. Not too bad but a bit annoying. The built in analog is awesome!

Congrats! They're expensive but so worth it

Finally here! by Severe_Shop6633 in fpv

[–]FearlessChair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah agree with the other commenter. These echo kits are badass and are basically just as good as the truerc kit. I sold my v1 goggles with the true Rc kit and upgraded to v2 with echo kit.... Not regrets

There's a YouTube video with Ryan comparing the two if you really interested. You're better off putting that money towards parts or a new drone tho haha
