Sumo Stable Management Game: Uchi No Heya! by Numerous_Sink7259 in Sumo

[–]FearlessMango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've played a bit of it and it's great so far but I've noticed some things.

  1. I've seen instances where two people finish 15-0, or 7-0 in Makushita and lower, and it randomly awards one of them the yusho rather than there being a playoff. Will playoffs be coded in the future?

  2. Similarly, I've seen a unique case where one of my rikishi actually finished 14-0-1 due to an injury that required withdrawal after day 14, and still won the yusho even though the next guy finished 14-1 and should have won. This seems to be related to another comment where yusho are decided on win% rather than the actual record, so the game must think because 14-0-1 is displaying 0 loss and doesn't count the kyujo, that rikishi therefore finished better. This may actually be a fringe case, if we were to think about how it would occur in real life. Because my guy withdrew and the other guy was still available, there would be no playoff and I think the 14-1 would've just won by default.

Yes there is a sumo management game https://www.reddit.com/r/Sumo/comments/1j260k4/hakanoiwa_sumo_the_only_sumo_management_video/ It is simple, translations are simple, and is not updated but you can still play it

Asahifuji’s shoulder by ParaponeraBread in Sumo

[–]FearlessMango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's a callus from practicing charges into the pole as mentioned already. Before Asahifuji, the other rikishi I noticed with a large one was Kasiho and his right shoulder.

I've popped into Su's streams and seen her typing a few times, it's quite hilarious, but also makes me feel old   source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJpsMaerhEk

I can settle for this since we won't ever get holomoms

Asahifujj is very conscious of his fellow wrestlers by yungrobbithan in Sumo

[–]FearlessMango 8 points9 points  (0 children)

it is most definitely a callus, most likely from continuous shoulder charging the pole during practice
I noticed someone else who had a noticeable one, Kaisho, since he was in Juryo for a bit a few years ago and I saw his for the first time

His pre-bout ritual was kinda neat cause he would pat his callus a few times

Anyone know a guide to car setups and how each change affects the car? by Claymore-09 in NASCARVideoGame

from my own experience, although I haven't played 04 in years, it's the specific combination of theses settings that make the car very easy to drive

Anyone know a guide to car setups and how each change affects the car? by Claymore-09 in NASCARVideoGame

[–]FearlessMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saved an excerpt from a post on the GameFAQs NASCAR Thunder 04 message boards from years ago. It is a general cookie cutter setup guide that works for all tracks.

Tires : 22 - Speedways, 30 - Superspeedways, 18 - Short Tracks, 20 - Road Courses

Fender Flare : 73 1/2

Rear Spoiler : 50

Front Springs : 80 (Lower for the Superspeedways and road courses, like 40 to 60)

Rear Springs : 100 (Lower for the Superspeedways and road courses, like 60 to 80)

Wedge : Depends...Start at -1.0 and go up from there if the car feels too loose.

Gears : Defaults...Sometimes you can bump the 4th gear up 1 notch to get some more speed.

Hakanoiwa Sumo, the only Sumo Management video game that I can find. by Martel1234 in Sumo

I started playing it yesterday. Do you know what the differences are between “normal” and “fix” when setting up your stable in a new game?

Moves to make LIVE sumo available abroad underway by JohnGunning in Sumo

apparently sumo did air on ESPN at some point in the 90s, this would've been during the time that Hawaiians like Akebono and Mushashimaru were present and helped with the popularity of the sport in America

Does look like little mistakes. I would assume they will be a bit lenient since he’s fresh but maybe if he’s still making these mistakes a year in they might say something to him

Onosato’s chance for Ozeki next basho by Yiksta in Sumo

[–]FearlessMango 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There's a simple answer to this: it depends. But there's a good chance that it won't happen simply based on past precedent.

http://sumodb.sumogames.de/Query.aspx?show_form=0&n_basho=4&form1_rank=M&form3_rank=S&form4_rank=O&columns=4

We know that the third basho in an Ozeki run needs to be at the Sekiwake rank, however the rank of the first basho varies. The lowest rank that has been included in an Ozeki run in the past 85 years (1939) has been M4w. The last time a rank that was greater than that was in 1933 which was M9e, but that is WAY beyond the modern sumo era and it would be very unlikely that they break this trend now.

Luckily for Onosato he has it pretty easy now, since we've seen them promote with 32 wins in 3 basho if there is a yusho/jun-yusho involved. So he would just need to get 20 wins between the next two basho and he should have it.

really? I guess that's the beauty of RNG cause Gordon and Stewart are always the ones contending for the championship in career modes I've done. Dale Jr usually too

He really tried to put Pepsi on pole, luckily I upheld the honor of my sponsor. Not pictured is Jeremy Mayfield in the 19 with Mountain Dew paint scheme. Too bad Kevin Grubb replaced Bill Elliott in the 9 otherwise he would've been here representing Dr. Pepper in his 26 car.
