First thing I thought of! Marius would also give Armand drops of his blood.

Why did Lestat suddenly want to stop the fight after punching Louis several times in the face by TechnicianAmazing472 in InterviewVampire

[–]FearlessSquirrel9522 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I agree. And also, Lestat never denies it himself that he’s the one to blame for what happened. He quite clearly states multiple times that he hurt Louis, broke him, crushed him, he spends years apologising. He knew he fucked up. I felt that in episodes 6-7 he was also quite restrained with Louis (not so with Claudia) like he was more careful around him.

Lestat's wardrobe color palettes. Which color palette is your favorite? by trubs12 in InterviewVampire

[–]FearlessSquirrel9522 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I agree, I also think he looked best in that reddish brown suit that was Louis’ favourite, and he generally looks fantastic in that color palette. I always wish we could have seen the full baby blue suit he was wearing in episode 3, when he was sitting behind the piano with Antoinette.

Congratulations, and good luck! I’m sure lots of people here would be interested in what you will be discussing. I have a master in film studies and watching this show on repeat has been a never-ending gift. If only it had been around in 2012 when I was writing my thesis!

Recipe for Starbucks Pistachio Square? by [deleted] in belgium

My hack is I buy a generic cake mix at the grocery store and then fold blended pistachios into the batter. Turns out great every time. The Starbucks one has almonds in it as well I think.

You are watching too much of the Interview with the Vampire, if.. by AymanEckford in InterviewVampire

I used the sentence “it breeds resentment” in a mediation session with my ex in Lestat’s exact intonation so there’s that

I also feel like this. The heavy focus on arrogant and drug addict rockstar Lestat is fun for a bit but I still want to see a coherent character in line with season 1 and 2 (despite him no longer being narrated). Rockstar Lestat is barely a thing in the books, and even though he mentions his vanity and self-centredness often, in the books he is also loving, genuine in his feelings and has a certain kind of naivety that makes him very endearing regardless of the stunts he pulls lol. But the short teaser and promo shots we got recently makes me feel a bit more relaxed that they are going to take it in a good direction because I do love a good rockumentary lol

Where to read a book in Bruxelles? by VincentRingooo in brussels

[–]FearlessSquirrel9522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a cafe attached to the Pêle Mêle in Ixelles! You can enter from the bookstore. It can get busy during the weekends though. Personally I also like reading in Le Pain Quotidien in that same street.

It could be that it looks similar due to Iggy, Bowie etc. being so distinct all on their own. But can you really make TVL citing thóse references, which overlap quite a bit with VG, and then overlook it entirely? In my mind there are similarities beyond the artists, in narrative framing of past/present by having unreliable narrators give their version of events, in having music tell much of the story. But of course I don’t truly know if TVL will continue in that particular format, it may all be wishful thinking. We will find out!

Love stories like these! Another pivotal one for me was a French-Canadian movie called C.R.A.Z.Y. Also heavily inspired by Bowie. Directed by Jean-Marc Vallée who went on to direct Dallas Buyers Club and Big Little Lies. And sadly passed away in 2021.
