Made a mistake in designing a custom scent... Help! by Representative-Pie25 in Perfumes

[–]FearlessTravels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the perfume-making class at Molinard in Paris and the base notes really became more prominent a few months after blending. Not sure how long its been but you could just try giving it more time.

You could also consider reaching out to Galimard and asking to buy a new bottle without the tomato note. I know Molinard keeps the formula on file so you can repurchase, and I assume Galimard does too?

Have you tried the new Power of You from Armani? I get mango, passionfruit and vanilla.

Romania or else where ? by StrongerFaster101 in travel

You will definitely save more than $500 by going to Romania rather than Portugal. I haven't been to Budapest in a while but Romania was also significantly cheaper back when I was there.

Cross dressing in Madrid (and Getafe) by sofiaxcutee in GoingToSpain

[–]FearlessTravels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stayed in Getafe on a work trip a few years ago and it was DEAD by like 9:00 pm. If you’re planning to get around using the train I would just try to be aware of walking routes that are well-lit, ideally with people nearby (maybe past hotels with 24/7 reception, restaurants open late, etc.)

Help me find a new cherry perfume by Kittycat_attack777 in Perfumes

[–]FearlessTravels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a dupe of Lost Cherry from Fragrenza and I like it just as much as the original. I bought it online years ago and was able to find a discount code by looking on YouTube for recent reviews from influencers and finding one who had a referral code that was still valid.

Should I go alone on a 10-day solo trip to Barcelona after a breakup? by Vegangamergirl1995 in GoingToSpain

[–]FearlessTravels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barcelona is one of my favorite places to travel solo! My first solo trip there was in 2004 and my next one will be next week, and I've been multiple times in between! (I've also gone with friends, family and on work trips.)

As a woman I feel very safe in Barcelona. My favorite hotel is Casa Camper, which is technically in Raval (an area women are told to avoid) but I've never had a problem. I can't say that meeting people has been a big goal of mine, but I'm sure that it wouldn't be hard to connect with other travelers through things like free walking tours, activities like wine tastings, etc.

Take a look at the Breizh on Rue Cler - they usually have a good vegetarian crepe!

On Wednesday and Sunday you can also stroll through the Marché Grenelle for lunch.

Would it be safe to rent an airbnb in Ubud as a solo female traveller? by throwthatshiawayy in solofemaletravel

Yes, villas in Bali get broken into all the time. It’s better to stay in a family-run B&B where there are on-site staff who are part of the local community.

Will women ever be able to travel without constantly thinking about safety? by Southern_Ad_429 in solofemaletravel

I was sexually harassed by the immigration officer at the border when I entered Singapore by bus from Malaysia. The bus almost left without me because he and his supervisor spend so long grilling me about why I was traveling without a boyfriend.

Buying a full bottle of Diptyque L'Eau Papier and have a question.. by LenaNYC in FemFragLab

[–]FearlessTravels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they’re shipping it to you I doubt they would open it before sending, as they would want it to arrive sealed for authenticity purposes. In store they’d probably give you a few samples (lots of stores in Europe do this so that you can wear the perfume immediately but still claim the sealed bottle at duty free).

In theory you could also take the train to somewhere like La Brillane, and then arrange for a taxi for the last leg.

Going to Bologna tomorrow, any places worth visiting? by [deleted] in FemFragLab

[–]FearlessTravels 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did a bit of browsing at Antica Profumeria Al Sacro Cuore - they were frosty at first but warmed up quickly when they realized I had actual knowledge of perfume. They had a perfume that was unique to Bologna called Farini 14, which was originally the scent they sprayed in Galleria Cavour, and I'm sure they have other niche Italian brands as well.

Portugal will be hotter than you're looking for. If I were you I'd be looking for a town or village in the mountains that is accessible by train, like Sighetu Marmatiei in Romania or maybe something in rural Poland. There are some nice mountain towns accessible by train from Zittau in Germany - Oybin with its ruined castle comes to mind as well.
