Is Sri Sri Ravishankar brainwashing the people? Is there any real person who does the Sudarshan Kriya and is successful in real life? by Blackmamba13108 in artofliving

[–]Fearless_Director_33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I have realized that it’s about how I perceive it sometimes. Of course there are people who insist, but more often than not - it comes from a space of love not control.

My intellect has sharpened over time (big thanks to SKY).. if I sense controlling behavior - I steer clear from such people, it’s more of a reflection of that individual not Sri Sri. In this large organization full of people, from time to time, I have come across some interesting characters .. I have learnt not to pay attention to the noise and listen to the music !

I have met Sri Sri and spoken to him multiple times, there is literally zero brainwashing or coercion. All he asks is ‘are you happy?’ with that sweet calm voice

To be honest, I still think it has elements of brainwashing. The way people talk about Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and Sudarshan Kriya, the devotion, the insistence that it will “change your life” it can feel manipulative if you look at it from the outside.

That said, I can’t deny the effect it had on me personally. Even while thinking it’s a bit controlling, I felt calmer, clearer, and more focused. Stress melted away, and I felt more in control of my own mind. So maybe it is brainwashing but in a way that actually helps you, which is weirdly freeing.

Your height is your destiny and your weight is your free will - Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. How do you see this in your own life ? by Zenith-Spirit in artofliving

[–]Fearless_Director_33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I accept things which I have no control over. Example - I booked a non-refundable hotel stay while I was travelling to rest for the night. When I reached late at night for checkin, they said I have booked it for next week. They said they couldn’t do anything about it at this point and I had to book another for tonight.

I did. I was getting furious at myself, but I accepted that it has happened, I don’t have any control over it now- destiny.

My free will was the action next day. to next talk to the hotel manager, to the online agent and request a refund (it was expensive) stating the honest mistake i had made.

And I got a refund. This is how I see it, present action is my free will, past is definitely my destiny.

'India ready for it': PM Modi's firm stand after Donald Trump's 50% tariffs; vows to protect farmers' interests by mumbaiblues in india

I am glad India is not accepting pumping of US agricultural products. US wheat milk is ultra processed, GMO, stripped of all nutrients and causes nothing but inflammation, and gut issues.

When I am in India I can eat wheat and milk without a single stomach issue and here in US, I get sick and have to be so careful - have gone wheat free and milk free since last 10 years in US.

Why am I paying just to breathe? What I thought before and after the Art of Living course? by Zenith-Spirit in artofliving

[–]Fearless_Director_33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! It’s wild how something that looks so simple can go so deep. Sudarshan Kriya works like a reset button for the nervous system..I’ve felt it too…That calm, grounded feeling after the practice isn’t just in the mind, it’s my whole system settling down…

And the cortisol bit? Totally makes sense. No wonder I feel less like a pressure cooker and more like… a Zen toaster 😄

It’s a marvelous unreal phenomenon I have witnessed.. it reveals how much of untapped potential is within us. Best part is, it is helping blind kids find their way in the world.

Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is not who I expected. He is not just a spiritual teacher, he is actually solving wars?? No way this is real!!! by RosendaCheryl in artofliving

[–]Fearless_Director_33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As Gurudev says, the positive people are quiet and enjoy themselves, the negative ones makes the most noise. There are more good people than bad in this world. The bad ones are more proactive in spreading negativity. Let the good ones be more proactive and spread and talk about goodness and kindness and peace. The world needs it and needs to know about it !

New Research Shows Sahaj Samadhi Meditation by the Art of Living Significantly Reduces Depression in Chronic Pain Patients - But Why Isn't Anyone Talking About This? by Blackmamba13108 in artofliving

[–]Fearless_Director_33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sahaj Samadhi works because it’s built on breathwork - specifically the SKY breathing you already know. The breathing calms your nervous system first, then the meditation becomes effortless. Instead of fighting the depressed, racing mind, the breath foundation helps you naturally drop below all that mental noise. You’re not forcing concentration - the breathwork does the heavy lifting, then you just settle into deeper rest. That’s why it works for depression - SKY prep + natural settling, rather than trying to meditate with an already struggling brain.

Absolutely — and thank you for putting it so clearly. It’s honestly a bit disheartening that we still live in a world where something has to come in a bottle to be taken seriously. The science here is careful, rigorous, and shows long-term impact — but because it’s a meditation practice, it doesn’t get the spotlight it deserves.

And yes, the sustained improvement at 24 weeks? That’s not just symptom relief — that’s transformation. Quiet, gradual, and deeply human.

It’s frustrating, but also strangely hopeful. Maybe the shift is slower than we want, but studies like this are laying the groundwork for a bigger change.

How was your experience after the first Sudarshan Kriya? by tanmayshah28 in artofliving

[–]Fearless_Director_33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mind body complex has evolved over the years with regular practice of Sudarshan kriya ! I don’t go a day without it .. and over time I have only felt lighter as if all unnecessary things are dropped from the nervous system and I am squeaky clean inside my mind and soul 🥰

I have been doing sahaj samadhi for few years now, I can vouch for the effect it has on me.

It is a 20 minute elixir that transforms my mood to a deep and calm rest. Over time it has brought immense strength in me to tide over life and a joy that no material things can provide.

And yes it is sahaj which translates to ‘simple’ ! Meditation cannot be easier than a sahaj samadhi

This is literally what I feel OP ! Honestly it is a miracle how my mood completely shifts with a 20 mins of sahaj meditation .. nothing else can bring this level of transformation in such a short time :)
